Lovely stay in this non-hotel. Beautiful old world palace and rooms. Very friendly and accommodating staff (owner?) Alvero. This is not your typical hotel, no TV, no front desk, no elevator, etc. If that is something that appeals, it is worth a stay. Note that there’s no sign on the small inconspicuous door. Alvero met me out front and helped with my bag up the stairs. It is quiet and the bed was very comfortable. There’s a hairdryer provided, soap, and two ply bath tissue ( nice plus). There’s a large tub and I wished I had the time to soak in it! I also didn’t tour the palace but would have if I had time. There’s a beautiful garden with a small pool if the weather is warm ( which it wasn’t on my visit). Great location with many cafes restaurants and a market that are steps away. Nice change from a typical hotel.

This is the place to stay in Jerez. Right in the centre with a beautiful garden and pool. You get a free tour of the palace included which is amazing. Alvaro was so helpful with a comprehensive list of things to do where to eat and close parking details before we arrived. Remember this is an old building and the rooms are the same however this gives the stay an even more interesting visit. Very comfortable bed and access via a private door to the palace 24 hours helps. Don’t miss out on place you will remember forever!

The guestrooms provided in this magnificent family home are truly unique and beautifully appointed. A very luxurious stay. The hosts are extremely polite and accommodating, kindly providing us with an umbrella when we had to head out in the rain. A very extensive list of suggestions for activities and restaurants is provided to guests. We were particularly grateful for the effective room heating provided, as we have been freezing in Spain this January!

A different stay to a standard hotel and this should be understood before booking that this is someone’s ancestral home as well as a hotel. Which means it has its own little quirks. However we really liked it and it was in a superb location.

The only positive of this hotel is its location. Otherwise , no service whatsoever. Not a palace , but a run down old house with small , uncomfortable rooms. No breakfast , nobody to help with luggage , no elevator , no TV.

I had very high hopes for the Palacio having stayed in similar buildings in Spain before. Sadly this was not a great experience. We arrived on a train from Seville , having previously advised the Palacio of our arrival time 9pm, then messaged again when the train was an hour late. Both messages were responded to saying this was fine. However when we finally arrived, the building was completely closed. Ringing and knocking did not get a response neither did a phone call. An email finally got a response to say my brother will let you in. Which after 10 minutes happened, rather grumpily on both sides. The room was good, echoes of history clear. But all showing their age. Dusty and faded. The bathroom shutters didn’t close and the shower curtain around the claw foot bath barely covered 1/4 of the bath meaning we showered exposed to the outside view and water went all over floor with every wash and trickled into bedroom. We saw no staff for all 3 days apart from a cleaner. On our final evening we returned to find scaffolding outside our 2nd floor windows then woke the next morning to find a man painting the window frame and walls directly outside our room. No amount of gesticulating dissuaded him and as we were leaving that morning, shutters wouldn’t move and curtain was inadequate, we were forced to shower in full view of the painter ! Very upsetting. Still no staff anywhere to be found so we left with no opportunity to resolve any issues. Felt thoroughly underwhelmed

It is not often you get to stay in an actual palace… I would recommend: it was lovely! Room spacious, high ceilings, air con, antique furniture and the tour from the owner was really personal and informative! Pool area a bonus, free use of pool towels a nice touch too. Central Jerez within a stone’s throw with ample choice of bars and restaurants. Peaceful two night stay, would have liked a fridge in the room but all the other complimentary items were great and a really nice gesture
