The front desk staff appear to like to hide in the restaurant. Twice, in the two nights I was there, I wanted to talk to someone at the front desk and the three people who were supposed to be there were all in the restaurant, sitting and chatting at a table. The mini-bar keeps things like cheese or milk cold which is unusual in Swiss hotels in my experience. Like some other Sass-Fee hotels, you don't get your Saastal Card until breakfast on the day after you arrive. Check-in is slow if you wait for a welcome drink. The wifi connection is very good and I was able to hold a zoom call to the USA with only a couple of minutes when there was clear slowness in the connection. The shower was excellent. I had to ask for a kettle and when one arrived, it had no tea or coffee to go with it and the cup was removed after one day and I had to ask for it to be replaced. The in-room safe was too small for my computer. There was a large stain on the duvet cover. Hotels.com does not show the location correctly: the hotel is a good deal further and in a different direction from the bus station and parking area.

Previous reviews with comments about the rooms lacking privacy were very on-point. The breakfast was not what I was expecting but still was okay.
This property is differently for skiers who are not interested traveling. If you are looking to travel to Zermatt- do not book! The 18 miles is not accurate and is a long trip to and from this property.

Very nice facility for R & R or an active stay skiing, touring, or hiking. The staff was friendly and helpful. The service was excellent. The room was comfortable, well appointed and very clean. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Saas Fee.

The property does not appear to have had a refurbishment any time in the last decade or two.
Whilst the staff were very friendly, service standards were very inconsistent.
From things missing at breakfast (spoons saucers etc) to house keeping not restocking things.
We had a suite with a fireplace and the hotel does not let you light the fire (presumably for instance reasons) One must ask reception to come and light it. Often the request was not passed on or just forgotten. It became a kind of evening sport to time how long the fire stayed lit after the staff left the room. Best time was 7 minutes.
The mattress reminded me of sleeping at my grandmother's place. Very, very soft, and needing a ladder to climb out of the hole in the morning.
I ended up sleeping on the pull out couch.
Room set up was..... weird.... The WC was the only private place with the "bathroom" sink on a central island and the spa bath and clear door shower providing no privacy. Not ideal for a family stay.

Amazing weekend in this hotel. From check-in to check-out service was great! Excellent location. Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful most especially Davide. Hotel room is clean and has an old time charm. Restaurant is great, food is exquisite. I highly recommend this hotel.

My first hike above 4000m (Allalinhorn) took place with such luxury! The three-story spa / sauna was simply beautiful. Hotel is well placed, staff were so friendly and helpful with the smallest of enquiry. Strongly recommended!

It is a beautiful hotel with very good spa area. Half-board is offered and is adequate but not superb for a four star+ hotel. Housekeeping spotty, depending on who did it. Not exceptionally welcoming like so many other hotels. Impersonal but professional.
