What Guests Say About Their Stay

Ariadna

Our stay at Gran Meliá Arusha was simply outstanding and far exceeded everything we could have imagined. From the very first moment, the hotel impressed us with its elegance, tranquility, and breathtaking natural setting. We were lucky to stay in a room with stunning views of Mount Meru, waking up every morning to an absolutely magical landscape. The infinity pool is spectacular, perfectly integrated into the surroundings and ideal for relaxing after a day of adventures. The gardens are lush, impeccably maintained, and simply beautiful, creating a peaceful oasis that makes you forget the outside world. But what truly made our experience extraordinary was the exceptional level of personalized service, especially from Daniel Ramos, Guest Experience Manager. His dedication went far beyond what anyone could expect. When I lost a personal object that seemed almost impossible to recover, Daniel did not stop until he found it. His effort, persistence, and genuine care turned a stressful situation into a story with a perfect ending. This level of attention and humanity is rare to find and made us feel truly valued as guests. Gran Meliá Arusha is not just a luxury hotel with stunning facilities—it is a place where people truly make the difference. We will forever be grateful for this unforgettable experience and we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We will definitely return.

An absolutely stunning hotel but let down by poor communication. I booked a room on red level for the benefit it offered. On arrival, I went to check in, was told it won’t be long at all. Then waited an hour and a half while checking multiple times how long it would be. Was then told that they were giving me an upgrade to another room and that’s why it took so long. Turns out it was actually due to them having the red lounge closed for renovation but did not communicate this to me in advance. I spent over $850 for one night for my husbands birthday and was let down. The whole check in process was awful. The pool and outdoor areas are absolutely gorgeous, so nice to walk through. Unfortunately they were removing tiles outdoors so a lot of banging and crashing was ruining the serenity. Room was good however the air conditioning in the bedroom did not stay cold. Bathroom vanity is unsealed so looks very dirty due to water stains. Buffet breakfast and dinner was amazing. Food was delicious. So many options available.

This hotel is a dream-come-true and is top class. Thanks to the fantastic job done by the hotel manager, the service provided is really perfect. The hotel looks like new and is in perfect condition. The view on the gardens and the Mount Meru is fantastic. This view is stunning from the great bar located on the roof top. Delicious food. Very customer-oriented. I will definitely return to this hotel next time I have to travel to the. Arusha region. Simply perfect.

Used it as a day hotel after safari... it took 90 minutes to get food at the restaurant so it used up nearly all of our lay over time. I was also told I needed to book two rooms (traveling with kids) for our 2.5 hr (yes, thats correct) stay. I would suggest Four Points Sheraton instead for a lay over hotel

This property is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are fantastic, they grow their own coffee, avocados and other gorgeous plants and flowers. The rooms are beautiful, big and the view of Mount Meru was outstanding. . However, what makes this hotel five stars is the hotel staff. They are amazingly kind, professional, courteous and ready to answer or help in any way needed. The breakfast buffet has a tremendous variety and was delicious. The coffee for the lattes was grown on site. Overall, a fantastic experience! Thank you Gran Melia staff!

The property is very nice, and I had a very enjoyable experience at the spa. Unfortunately there were a number of issues with several dining experiences. Steak cooked at the wrong temperatures, food coming out cold, coffee order incorrect. It was likely a one-off but given the number of issues I had I figured it was worth noting. The F&B manager responded swiftly and indicated they were working on (or would be working on) training to meet expectations.
