Good room, during the stay, the hotel upgrades the room to a beautiful, clean room, next to the sea view, very good service staff, friendly, delicious morning food. There are many menus to choose from. Can ask for more. But regret it during the strong sea breeze So I can't play in the water But will definitely return to this hotel again.

Only the room met our expectations. The hotel is not stroller friendly, because an elevator dont exist on thr premesis. You have use stairs to go to your room and a cable car to go to the beach, but its difficult to have the stroller with you in the cable car. The beach is full of big and sharp stones so its not child friendly at all. The lunch was terrible, so we decided not to eat dinner at the hotel. We ordered from outside the hotel. The service in general was under our expectations. Many of the staff members didnt understand english. But Kim from the reception was great, she was kind and helpfull. But a lot of the times we unfortenatly feelt that the other receptionmembers was bullied her, espacially the receptionist with russian accent.

The property and location were beautiful. The distance from even the local shops was inconvenient, and getting to the town centre quite expensive. Considering these factors, having the main bar closed for 2 days each week as the restaurants were, on rotation, it would be a good relax for adults but could be a bit difficult with kids

Positives The lobby area is beautiful, rooms are a decent size with a huge comfy bed. The hotel grounds are lovely & tropical. The swimming pool is a good size, clean and was never too busy during my stay. The beach is nice but it’s not like the images you see online. The hotel staff are nice & approachable, especially the ladies at the front desk. Good variety of breakfast options. Frequent free shuttle service to Cape Kantary (sister hotel) & its nearby amenities/ restaurants. Negatives It’s not a 5-star luxury resort (perhaps it was when it first opened). The rooms (& bathrooms) are dated. The rooms are somewhat clean/ could be cleaner. Unwanted room guests; on two consecutive days I had a gecko/ lizard lurking in the fridge cupboard. Hats off to housekeeping who managed to find and catch the gecko/ lizard on both occasions. I understand that it’s a tropical destination, (& it’s not my first time in a tropical location), but it’s not great that this happened twice within my first 4 nights at Cape Panwa Hotel. I reached out to Cape Panwa Hotel more formally on the above but I haven’t received a response (and I since checked out). Unable to accommodate an earlier check-in (I wasn’t the only guest to experience this). Activities lack authenticity; e.g batik painting. What guests actually do is ‘colour in’ a pre-batik drawn design using the paints provided. That’s all there was to it.

I have visited theCape Panwa 7 times over the last 23 years and very little has changed. However certain areas have now fallen way below what weI expected. Service in all areas is so poor that guests have given up eating in the hotel. Breakfast is not a patch on what it used to be and is the same everyday. There is no supervision of staff, clearly no training for new staff even to understand the basics of serving a guest. A few of the remaining long term staff have also given up ( their words not mine) as no one seems to care anymore. The decking around the pool area has been there for over 30+ years and is now so dangerous for all guests. Tiles are missing from the main pool and rust is showing in the pool. There are many other tripping hazards in and around the hotel which have been painted black so you can see them better, especially in the dark. ( Really). The hotel general manager was on site but not once did I see him talk to a member of staff or a guest. What a shame for such a beautiful place to have fallen.

The property itself is beautiful and scenic. We loved the private beach, and the view from breakfast never got old. But the food and service is severely lacking, as well as much of the accommodations becoming outdated and worn. The staff at the front desk are helpful and accomodating, but that's where it ends. Several times there were situations I could have used help, like carrying luggage, but the staff offered no assistance. Room service is also lacking. Due to issues created through language barriers, we were not able to effectively communicate with the staff, which led to several misunderstandings and, once, being hung up on. This also leads me to the food, which was extremely lacking in flavor and variety despite the high cost. For example, there were several breakfasts where there were simply no options to eat other than Western food, like bread pudding, bacon, or beans. Since we were at a resort in Thailand, I really expected many more Thai food options than we ever got. In addition to the poor quality of food, restaurants often had high wait times for food to be served or was forgotten about completely. As an example, we waited nearly 40 minutes on a salad at the Bamboo bar. When we went back later, it was over an hour and it was clear the server simply forgot about the order. Overall, I'm disappointed with our experience at a five-star resort. The grounds were stunning and we loved the Panwa house, but everything else was underwhelming. We will not be back.

That’s all there was to it.

would I come again.Yes The room I had Cape Suite, was very modern ,large and comfortable. However the exterior needs some works and refurbishing. The service at the buffet was a bit haphazard and can also be improved.
