Disappointing Experience – Please Read Before Booking I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I booked through Traveloka for around IDR 900,000, and everything seemed clear and reasonable. However, upon arrival, I was asked to pay an additional $146 USD for taxes, which came as a total shock. I chose this hotel because the price appeared affordable and I only needed a short stay before my very early morning flight. When I tried to cancel, I was informed that the booking was non-refundable, so I had no other option. I’m quite certain that when I made the booking, there was no notice saying “pay at property”, and it clearly stated that taxes were included. While I was checking in, I saw several other guests expressing similar frustration, so it wasn’t just me. The saddest part was meeting an elderly woman who came all the way from Washington to Chicago for medical treatment. She told me, in tears, that she had already spent so much on her treatment and now had to pay $500 USD in hotel taxes. It was truly heartbreaking. For anyone planning to visit Chicago, please be cautious and double-check all the details before booking. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience.
