Updates on Haze in Kalimantan and Sumatra, Indonesia

Update Alert

  • It is recommended to use an N95 mask or above to protect yourself against smoke haze.
  • Your flight schedule may change at any time without prior notice depending on conditions at the impacted airports.
  • Passengers are advised to regularly check their flight status in Traveloka application or to the airline regularly.
  • If Traveloka receives any cancellation information from the airline, Traveloka will send said information to the impacted passengers via push notification, SMS, and email.
  • The list of cancelled flights are available below in the Airline Status and Policy segment.

In light of the recent smoke haze arising from forest fires in Kalimantan and Sumatra, flights operating to/from the following airports may be retimed, rerouted, or cancelled:

Therefore, we advise you to regularly check our Flight Status feature or the airline for the latest status of your flights.


In case you need to make any changes to your reservations, here are some steps you can take:

Refund or Reschedule Flight

Refund

You may be able to request a refund. Log in to your Traveloka account on your Traveloka App or Traveloka website and go to My Booking. Select Refund, and then choose Force Majeure as the reason for refund. Please note that refund request due to force majeure is applicable only when you get an email confirmation from us stating that your flight is officially canceled or mentioned at airline status below.

Reschedule

You can reschedule your flight to another date that suits your preference as long as it meets airline's regulation. Please contact your airline directly to get free reschedule.
Please refer to each airline's policy below before requesting a cancellation or a reschedule because it may vary.

Garuda Indonesia (GA)

Based on information from Garuda Indonesia GA Info No. 127/GA/JKT/IX/18 dated 4 October 2018 regarding Force Majeure-Impacted Tickets Handling,

passengers of impacted flights may take one of these options:


  1. Reschedule to closest available flights; reschedule is only allowed if done to same reservation booking designator (RBD)/booking class as original booking. Please reschedule directly to airline.
  2. Extend the ticket validity of the impacted bookings up to 6 months after the force majeure occured. If needed, the extension can be done by reissuing the ticket, without any additional fee.
  3. Reroute to any flight which fare is equal to or higher than original booking without any additional fee. If the new flight fare is less than the original booking, the new flight has to be issued with the original booking price.
  4. Change the passengers' name (only once is allowed). Name change only can be done in Garuda Sales Office with written request from passengers.
  5. Passengers are allowed to do option 1 to 4 simultaneously.
  6. If passengers refuse option 1 to 5, the flights can be refunded with following conditions:
  • For economy class, the cancellation fee is 20% of the base fare.
  • For business or first class, the cancellation fee is 10% of the base fare.
  • If passengers have checked in for their flights, the passenger service charge (PSC)/airport tax cannot be refunded.
  • If passengers have not checked in for their flights, the passenger service charge (PSC)/airport tax can be refunded.

Reschedule - Open Traveloka App or website and log in to your Traveloka account. Go to My Booking to find your hotel voucher. Open your voucher and tap the Reschedule menu at the bottom. If your booking is reschedulable, you can immediately choose your new schedule.
