Unfortunately my experience in room 414 last night was not good, there was an annoing continuous sound all night up above the room( not the air conditioning unit ss this was off) also the bed was unsteady. Each time my husband or i moved it disturbed the other person. This resulted in myself not having a good nights rest . Shame as all previous visits to the Grosvenor have been amazing .

Great old hotel, sadly now deteriorating. Staff in restaurants very surly and rude. Reception staff very helpful and manager doing a good job.

Continental breakfast - the bread wa

The hotel is closing this Sept for a two year renovation. Some staff have already left for other city jobs. Both sink and bathtub did not drai well. The room tv was so small it was almost impossible to see. No bar soap provided. Asked for a one hour late checkout and it was granted but almost begging. Good location. Dave in the restaurant was good as well as both doorman. Possible maybe second stay but only after renovation.

Room was lovely and clean comfortable bed Bar not open Kate but great service earlier in the night Breakfast very good had continental and it was filling lots of toast and pastries when requested more

Hard to access the hotel between 15:00pm and 16:30pm the road outside becomes a walk path, got to enter the hotel via the car park on the 2nd floor, Also the pool and spa are not open on Tuesday & Wednesday. Hotel and service was beautiful.

Outstanding Hotel and amenities door men and breakfast staff can't do enough for you. The reception team are not quite as good! However, we had an amazing stay.

Booked for 1 night stay whilst in Chester, check in was smooth and very friendly staff on reception. We requested a late check out of 1pm and this was accommodated without any issues. We were escorted to the room which was an Executive room but it was extremely dated and curtains needed to be fixed (which we did ourselves). The bathroom had silicone everywhere and just needed to be brought up to date. Did not look like the photos on line at all. It was clean overall and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and all of the food was fresh although the restaurant furniture where we were sat did have cosmetic issues with damaged sofas that were ripped etc. Following breakfast we went back to the room but were startled by the fire alarm which was a test but we were not advised this during check in. At 11:30 the cleaning staff pressed the door bell and entered into the bedroom despite a late check out being booked. When we advised we had a late check out booked she left but then proceeded to bang the hoover against the door and was rude to us so much so that we packed up and left the room and the cleaner was rude once again! We did make a complaint to reception on check out who did credit the late check out fee but this kind of treatment from the cleaning staff at a hotel of this rating is really not acceptable and tarnished our stay. In essence the hotel could be out of this world but it needs investment and better cleaners!

Room was excellent, bed very comfortable. Unlimited continental breakfast was also excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and am looking forward to staying there again when I return to Chester.

Someone rang the bell on our room then walked in 5 seconds later without any approval to ask if we wanted some milk. No hotel worker should be able to let themselves in to your room unannounced. Also had people banging on our door and screaming in the hall at 1-2am. Had some really nice stays here previously but this stay was really uncomfortable.

Great location right in the centre of Chester. Friendly quick check in. Room spacious with everything you need. Have stayed before. Continental breakfast really good choice of quality food, great service. Thanks to all for an enjoyable stay.

Excellent stay, first class hotel in a prime location. Worth the money A+

Fantastic location, a few steps to begin the city walls walk. Comfortable beds,good size room, helpful staff.Breakfast included,but hot breakfast was an extra charge.

The staff was professional and accommodating. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The bar was limited. The exercise room was better than most, but small. Location is perfect. Value for money is good.
