Absolutely beautiful resort with fantastic staff. We read reviews regarding difficulties in getting reservations for dinner. We booked the Royal level and I highly recommend this if you have the ability. We had reservations for all 7 nights and ate at all restaurants at least once. The Royal level team was amazing and truly treated us as royalty! That being said the entire resort goes out of their way to make your vacation the best you have experienced. From our welcome from Johnny to our final goodby from Tony we were made to feel like familia! Also had a great experience renting a jeep and cruising Cozumel, the locals were extremely gracious in sharing their home with us. Great experience!

Lovely place to stay. Beautiful landscape. Feels private and is quiet. The restaurants are warm and there is no air circulation unless they set up fans.

The grounds are beautiful and the staff is so friendly. The Royal Level is so worth it.

Actual beach, not a man made beach like in the city. Nothing within easy walking distance, must cab/rent to go to city. Dive shop on site is helpful. Many tour companies will pick up from hotel or dock. Facilities are nice and clean. Frequent power outage, lost water twice.

Didn’t try to protect food enough from flies outside. I wouldn’t eat at the buffet

Staff were very attentive and grounds well kept. However, the pictures on internet were not up to date as the beach had eroded. Therefore, the pictures looked better than the beach actually was in reality. However, overall the stay was good and I would go back if prices were right.

Served alcohol to my underage son multiple times. Buffet was same exact thing every time and not tasty, staff kept telling us different times for opening and closing times of restaurant. Some restaurants closed entire time, power and water was out one day, people allowed to play music at adult pool so not peaceful at all and no one to help get a taxi often and check in process took about 45 minutes. Sorry to be so negative but there’s zero chance I would stay here again.

First of all I want to shout out to the Royal level team,Odalys, Alejandra, Maricruz and also the stuff at La Carreta restaurant Meseros, Armando, Claudia, Carlos, Rogelio and Shany. This is a lovely secluded place surrounded by the jungle and is very serene and quiet. I stayed at the Royal level and was pampered like a king they really make sure you stay is the best it can be and any problems were addressed with immediately. Slightly older place the Wi-Fi could be better but was fine and a little trouble with the hot water but they fixed it right away. We had a nice private pool and the food and private restaurant was absolutely wonderful. I went to a couple of other restaurants the corral or the Playa at the beach where they had a wonderful buffet and on certain night specialty seafood. Are you a cane so I was able to gain access to a shuttle if needed but it is walkable with a cane. Pro dive is on location for your convenience.

It was a very relaxing enjoyable week. Staff was welcoming and attentive,The food was excellent, and the nightlife entertainment was more than expected.

Staff were very friendly and did an amazing job of taking care of the entire property and our needs during our stay. The food was delicious, lots of variety. It’s a beautiful environment to relax and restore!

I’ll start by saying we chose this hotel because we stayed next door at allegro years ago and loved the area but not the food at that resort. The reviews for food here at Occidental were mixed but my whole group was happy with the food, the buffet was good and the special restaurants were the best I’ve had at any resort. The staff was friendly, we had no problems having plenty of water available to drink. The beach is smaller but nice, we enjoyed the kayaks available for free. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. Our snorkel trip and fishing trip picked us right up at the dock, the chef in the Mexican restaurant cooked our fresh caught Mahi Mahi and it was delicious. Overall I would definitely come back here, I think it was everything you could want for the low price.
