We stayed 1 night when in Derry for a wedding. The hotel is extremely dated, although undergoing renovations as recently taken over by Hilton’s Doubletree brand. Our room was large and served its purpose but overall not terribly soundproof leading to a disturbed nights sleep from children being left to run wild up and down the corridor. Contributing to the poor nights sleep was the uncomfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was a good offering in a room that will be lovely once renovated.

Had I known in advance of confirming the booking that renovation work was being done, and sawing and hammering would start at 7:30 in the morning, I would not have stayed here. A complimentary drink on offer didn’t compensate for the annoyance.

The food and staff was so amazing no fault there. It was £14 to stay in there under ground carpark which i believe should have been free as we paid a lot for the room. The hotel room itself was very extremely dated. It couls definately do with a freshen up. It had no fridge or no water for the kettle. We were there on a birthday trip and we were so dissapointed with the room. My son loves a bath as we jave a shower at home so when away he loves a we bath and it was not possible as the bath and tiles were all mouldy. The hotle is situated fantastic in the middle of everything right beside guild hall and all the shopping centres etc so location is brilliant. Location, food drink and staff is fab pity about the hotel room such a let down.

Under renovations, which was not properly highlighted before we booked. The service at breakfast time was very poor and the coffee was lukewarm at best. Very disappointing breakfast. Bar service was poor as well. Facilities was very good though just a pity about the coffee in the morning

We booked into this property , we were not told in booking that renovation work was being carried out which was very inconvenient. You had to access hotel via underground car park . Air con/heating system in room did not work first night was positively cold despite a spell of good weather a heater was provided . The water for showering was cold/ lukewarm. . Understaffed second morning of breakfast I actually went and lifted pot of coffee tea for myself and sisters . The hotel is run down and needs a face lift . Staff did not address my concerns hotel in process of changing ownership and no one really taking accountability. On departing lots of people standing around waiting on lifts . Staff walking through people I had to stop and ask where are the stairs no signed . Lots of people did take stairs and it helped dispersed crowd at lift and in limited reception area . Overall I would not recommend this hotel . Pool is only advantage it has in comparison to other hotels in area .

Derry is lovely and the staff were also lovely. The hotel is getting renovated and needs it. Gym is good size but all equipement is old and so are the changing rooms. The bathroom in bedroom is so outdated. Hopefully they will adresss all of this with the work going on

There are no plugs beside the beds and we use medical equipment. The reception contacted maintenance and they had an extension lead brought to the room within minutes but we then had a cable trailing from one wall to opposite side of room where beds were which wasn't ideal. I would hope this is taken in2 acct with the new refurbishment taking place. Street parking opposite is £5 depending when you arrive. Hotel charge £14 per night.

Well we had a nasty surprise wen we went to check in saying we had only booked a room for 2 but we had our 6 year old grandchild with us. I sincerely had booked a room for 2adults and 1 child (6 years old) my booking said room sleeps 3 and 3 travellers. But this is to do with hotels.com. I will give Derry city hotel a bi ball as they are getting refurbished but service in bar was slow and stop and breakfast was terrible the food was not being replenished quick enough as a lot of foods all empty I had to ask for 4 different things and eventually got most but couldn’t wait any longer as got fed up standing waiting but this should not b affected by refurbishment as numbers for breakfast r known r mayb just short staffed like everywer else but as I said will give bi ball as I love the hotel in general it’s great for us with pool for grandchild and it’s very handy for shops for me 😀

It was a nice hotel however there were a few hiccups throughout our stay, the lifts were very slow, my sister had joined us on the Saturday and paid £14 for parking in the hotel, we had the drive to a restaurant and only gone for a hour, when we arrived back to the hotel there were no parking spaces left, the male porter said there was nothing they could do? Paid £14 to park for an hour? It turned out cheaper just to park in the car park across the street. Our party was gluten free and we were assured that they done a gluten free breakfast, which I know most places don't offer, but a hotel should either offer all of it or nothing at all as we had waited 40 mins for watery scrambled egg and a few bits of bacon and then another 10 mins on top of that for 2 bits of toast which is absolutely ridiculous and for it to cost £20 was completely unreasonable!!! I would book the hotel again but please review the gluten free options.

Derry is such a beautiful place with a troubled history. Despite the difficulties Derry has endured you will be hard pushed to find nicer & most helpful people!

Very disappointing stay. Extremely dis satisfied at considering the costs. Construction ongoing within the hotel and not told this before hand Firstly the car parking on site which was always free. They now charge but no signs to tell you. Only found this out after checking in. Rooms very old and dated and unclean, toilet barely flushed and barely any water in the shower hose Breakfast of very low quality. Most of the products ran out and seemed to be very few waiter/kitchen staff. Very slow to re stock the food items. Large Q’s standing waiting on food. Would not recommend this hotel at all

Great purely for location. Room very dark but comfortable beds. Breakfast average. Food was luke warm. Overall thought in current state over priced compared to Fabulous Gateway hotel Inishowen.
