Despite the past incident that they charged me RM100 for each connecting room, this time they didn't charge, and they proceeded with my request for 2 connecting rooms (4 rooms altogether) as we were traveling with kids and elderly individuals. Will come back again next time if they maintain their service attitude like this time.

I stayed for 5 days and 4 nights at Royale Chulan Penang. The staff were friendly and welcoming, always greeting guests with a smile. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of food choices, and room service was excellent. However, there was a slight drawback at the breakfast restaurant. The fried youtiao station caused the air to become quite oily. After breakfast, I noticed that the fried odour lingered on my clothes and hair, which was a bit unpleasant—especially since I had showered before heading down for breakfast. Even when sitting far from the stall, it was difficult to avoid this issue. I would suggest considering moving this fried station into the kitchen area. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. I would rate it 4/5 and would consider revisiting in the future

Nice and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance to tourist spots. Nice breakfast too!

Quite an old hotel but still very charming. The room we got was quite small (not sure if we got the deluxe room or not) but still comfortable enough. Toilet is spacious and very clean. Bed is huge but the pillows smelt horrible (bad body odour). Loved the breakfast spread and how walkable it is to Penang attractions👍🏼

This hotel is far from the hospital, about 5 km. There are food options but not as many as in the city center. But if you want to find peace, this is the right place. The location is close to the cruise ship pier. The rooms are quite spacious. There are many breakfast choices. There is a gym. Nice swimming pool with salt water so the body relaxes. The service is very friendly.

Great stay.. The hotel smells soo good and makes me feel calm 😚. Breakfast was awesome. There are a variety of choices of roti canai that were made when requested. Gonna repeat this hotel 😍

It was a wonderful stay at the hotel. When we arrived, it was still a little early and the room was not ready. So, the hotel did a pre-check in for us and invited us to use the hotel facilities whilst waiting for the room. We spent some time at the pool which we enjoyed, after which we were able to get the keys and entered our room. Our room was on the 5th floor and we had a partial view of the sea. There was a cruise ship docked at the port and that was quite an interesting view out of the window. Breakfast was fantastic. There were plenty of choices and mostly really good.

Our sheets (under the blanket) were stained in multiple areas on arrival. We called housekeeping and they were promptly changed.

Luxury Heritage Hotel Atmosphere with Friendly Staff.

Well managed hotel consistent with the Royale Chulan brand. More comfortable seating in deluxe rooms would be appreciated. Most rooms have chaise longue seating. Small sofas are a lot more comfortable and should be considered with current renovations. Breakfast very good- variety and quality and house keeping was outstanding. I will continue to choose Royale Chulan accommodation in Malaysia.

Very strategic location, close to the culinary center and city center, comfortable and spacious rooms, excellent facilities, satisfied staying here.

The hotel is nice, just that there's some lights that are not functioning. There's a lot more lights inside the room, so it's not so big of an issue. The right side of the bed doesn't have a plug point, another small detail as well, not a big deal. For the value that I'm paying for, I think it's worth it.

Room Access card not working, faulty phone, TV remote and safe box not working. Tampered bathroom necessities. Request to clean my room not done during my entire stay.
