Check in was quite friendly and simple. The hotel is simple and fairly basic but it's clean and very good value. The single room was small but had everything I needed. Small point but if you are larger then room 413 will not work well for you as the shower room was tiny with the shower door not opening because of the sink and the toilet was squeezed in-between the shower and the wall. I'm not that big but my shoulders were crammed in against each side. It was very clean and neat though. I'd suggest a bath mat could be a good idea for the shower. Breakfast was very good and in a bright spacious room with Sea and Promenade views.

It was £30. For that it has a 3* rating. The room was very small, the bathroom was so small that you couldn't open the shower door passed half way without it hitting the sink, but that was fine, I'm slim! A larger person could absolutely not use it or the toilet. My neck touched the sink using the loo! The shower head did not move so the floor got soaked when you switched it on to warm up. That being that for £30 - fine! The room however was filthy and that is not satisfacroty. The doors were covered in dirt - I really wanted to purchase a pack of flash wipes!! The king size mattress was overhanging a double base. There was no hairdryer (it states there was), the TV had stains all over it. I opened a drawer it had crumbs in. There was no headboard but instead a wall covered in dirt behind the pillows. The bed itself was clean. There was a chair. There were tea making facilities. No glasses or anything similar. If the room was clean I wouldn't have been bothered for £30... but yeah no excuse for that unfortunately.

No one at reception when we arrived, had to look around for them, up to ten minutes, fine when we found someone and pleasant. Room was comfortable and warm, dated but to be expected, beds comfy apart from bunk beds, kids complained to me about springs sticking up. I did ask for Seaview twice by message but never got one, would have been a nice gesture. Major issue with the room could have been for some some, main kitchen extraction fan/system outside window, starting at 7am, like an aeroplane engine. Lounge area looking into the promenade, good for the kids, pool table, connect 4.. All in all we had a good stay, do understand why it may not meet everyone's expectations though. Also minimum card payment 10.00 so bear in mind if only getting one drink. Drinks reasonably priced too.

Staff were friendly enough, but room was small, bathroom was tiny - it was mentioned to reception about mess on main door, but nothing was done.

Lovely staff, room okay, however ploblems, heating on but stops during the night, shower has no heating and shower heat not fixed so drops down now and again. Could do with a vacuum in the room, I don't think the hall way have ever been cleaned, smell funny, also it like a maze in the hotel had to ask to get get out to reception, we didn't have food at hotel so I don't k ow if it's good or not. Otherwise great for a base and price was okay

The rooms are fairly basic but it always offers good value for money and does a great cooked breakfast. It’s not far from town.

If it wasn’t for the food this place would’ve scored a zero. The breakfast was very good value in particular and very fresh for a buffet. The actual hotel wasn’t great. Our first room clearly hadn’t been cleaned as it had the previous guests wine bottle in it and stunk of cannabis. Not ideal when they knew we were travelling with a 5 year old. They changed our room but this one had no towels or tea and coffee. When we phone reception they said they would sort. Over an hour later we had to go back to reception to collect ourselves. The whole place smells like guests smoke in their rooms and the evening entertainment (as advertised on the site) wasn’t on due to low guests. The staff in the restaurant made of the places short comings and they were really nice with half decent food considering what we paid for it. I’d avoid this place if you’re travelling with kids, enjoy cleanliness and don’t smoke

I’d booked a family sea view room and pictures was the reason I wanted to pay little more for that. The room was tiny with a small double so me and my partner struggled to stay on together and the bunk bed for my two children. That was unsafe as the ladder was loose. The view was half the sea and half the building as we was on the side. Mattresses was very cheap and uncomfortable. That room was not suitable for a family, barely big enough for two people. There was a smell of cannabis on our floor soon as we walked on the floor. I was woken up around 01:30 with the smell of cannabis really strong and had stank our room out. Next morning my one year woke up not acting right and blotchy face. We phoned 111 for advice and they instructed us to take her away from the smell. It’s worked! I reported this to who was on the desk at the time. Was told they couldn’t do anything but if it happened again to come down to the desk and report it. It happened again, it wasn’t has strong smelling but when I went down there was no one on the desk. The smell was coming from 311. The internet was ment to be free but would stop working after 20. We counted 37 times we had to reconnect and put our info in again. I don’t recommend this hotel for families it clearly isn’t and it was the end of the lights so wasn’t even that busy. I’ve stayed in some bad hotels and this is up there with some. I’m extremely disappointed and don’t recommend this hotels unless you have no children under 16.

We booked to stay at The President Hotel for 2 nights but our room was so cold the whole time we were there we stayed for only one night. We checked in, the reception guy we later found out was Nathan wasn't at all interested or welcoming, just after 3pm got to our room and it was freezing, the window would not fully close and temp outside was around freezing and it honestly was not any warmer in the room. The hotel heating wasn't on and the little portable radiator in the room did not work. I returned to reception with said radiator explained it didn't work which he didn't believe until he plugged it in, then said he'll get another one, about 5pm we went down again and he said the hotel heating will be on shortly We asked him 4 or 5 times but he just wasn't interested We got in bed which had a crevice down the middle so I basically 'slept' on the base. The radiator in room didn't seem very hot, hotel heating went off about midnight and once again the temperature in room plummeted we couldn't get comfortable so not much sleep because it was so cold. In morning I went and explained to new reception guy and once again he said he'd try find a heater and that the heating will be on soon, it never came on all day! We went out for day but on our way out Nathan was cleaning rooms so I got him in our room so he could see the window and bed and feel the cold, he shrugged said not his problem as he not on reception. When we got back to hotel room still freezing so we decided to leave
