The hotel is in Luton Town Centre. It's close to the train station and the bus interchange and next to the shopping mall. The hotel is much nicer inside than it looks from the outside. The area is quite grim, rough sleepers, drug users and almost no police presence. This is Luton and I know it well, I never felt threatened but I could understand some would. Luton Council have made many improvements recently. The staff are very nice and doing a great job. The room was actually pretty good. Breakfast was decent quality, the 24hr coffee machine in reception is a nice touch. On the negative side only one lift was working, the staircase and some of the communal carpets need cleaning. I am happy with the stay and if I had to return to Luton I would stay here again.

Firstly the hotel is difficult to find. Being on foot and walking around Luton town centre on a Saturday night in the dark alone was not ideal. Eventually found it after calling reception and walking over a big ramp. Poor service and poor standards from arrival. I was put on the top floor despite my poor mobility. I got to my room to find the tv did not work. It could not be fixed so ended up watching my own iPad all evening. Luckily the WiFi connection is good. Dirty shower and really poor standard of decoration in what is a very small room, so you notice things more. Heating was on when it absolutely did not need to be, so had to have window open all night which meant wind whistling and keeping me awake. Didn’t sleep well. Couldn’t try breakfast as I was nil by mouth as I had an operation the day after my stay - was feeling very alone and vulnerable having travelled all day, so to end up at a rubbish hotel was incredibly disappointing.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, good Wi-Fi. Stayed overnight.

Drugs using under hotel ramp were some people sleep ruff. At rear of the hotel in small square down and outs and Alcoholics drinking . My wife found it unsafe, we were told when out near the hotel we get are faces kicked in by drunk person. The area looks run down in places and if safe why have security guard on site at the hotel. I only used the Thristle Hotel because i used their Heathrow hotel twice before.

Lovely,warm atmosphere with smart interior. Management very efficient. Front desk unfriendly and no customer relations etiquette.However,I enjoyed my stay overall.

Don’t trust the photos! The hotel is not this nice. Also facilities they advertise such as kettle in room are not correct. There is a coffee machine at reception but water is barely warm. Noise outside the hotel is horrendous. We spent the night awake thanks to the boy racers in the car park facing our window. No Aircon or heating. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel

Quick stopover prior to taking flight from Luton, Next to square and can be noisy from outside. Not the hotels fault. Reception was good. The room was basic but clean. There was no coffee making facility in the room. There was coffee in the lobby. The bed was not comfortable and the pillows even less so. All in all if I have to, I will go again

Was perfect for what we needed for a few hours overnight before an early morning flight. Clean, tidy and staff were helpful.

Stayed for two nights after arriving to Luton airport and waiting to go to Heathrow for my next flight. Staff is really attentive and the breakfast and all day coffee availability is great. The mall next door made the wait pass faster. Would stay again if I arrive to Luton airport and need a few nights before I continue with my travels.

Pros : cheap and only a few mins walk from train station although I would not recommend doing so at night. Cons : Most uncomfortable bed I have slept on in years it felt like a slab of concrete with a sheet over it, only had one very thin pillow went to reception to ask for another was told no, explained I have a back issue and needed the support told no even firmer and rudely Shower pressure on 9th floor was appalling water literally dribbled out. Buffet breakfast looked like a roulette wheel of options to get salmonella.
