When I first arrived, this hotel seemed nice and clean.

The Mei Hotel is great. The staff are all nice and the service is excellent. The rooms are clean. When I go to Penang, I always stay at the Mel Hotel.

Good location and tons of eateries and hospitals within walking distance. Free washing machine and dryer is a plus point (bring your own detergent). Reasonable price for the good quality room. Small downside: no hand towel in the room.

At 11 p.m., guests near the room were leaving or checking in. The sound of footsteps and conversations was loud, and even the sound of the shower running could be clearly heard from our room, on the 12th floor. My message to the hotel is to improve the soundproofing.

Have to wait until 2 PM to check in while I am with parents and kids.

Stayed here during the rainy season. Pros: filtered drinking water in each room, self-service laundry, walkable distance to the city area. Cons: not really soundproof as I can hear music blasting from the hotel surroundings, bed cover and pillow smell bad even though I asked to change them every day, hotel drop-off is always fully parked so it’s impossible to get out of Grab/taxi without getting wet.
