I can not fault this hotel, everything was perfect! Location was great, rooms were clean, staff were friendly. We got a complimentary drink on arrival, which was much appreciated. Breakfast was lovely, more than enough choice and plenty of seating (I think we probably went down at peak time). We also ate dinner there too, we shared 3 small plates....portion size was very generous! I can't recommend enough, this will definitely be our go to hotel when staying in York.

I really love the aesthetic of this hotel, it's so fun and lively. There's plenty of games, the decor is stunning, the staff that we have dealt with have been so lovely, helpful and friendly, especially with our old lab. Thanks again, you know who you are. Very dog friendly here, its so lovely. Breakfast is lovely, its definitely value for money, pastries are a lovely touch. Lifts are fast, our room is lovely. The only couple of snags are that there's a bit of a drain smell and that the front door seems broken, it doesn't close easily. And there is an automatic light under the bed, which goes off when the dog walks around in the night or anyone is up for the toilet which is not ideal, but hey ho, stuffed some towels around it last night and it stopped going off ! If you're sharing the bed, you feel everything, as its very soft. Oh and great location, pretty much a less than 10 min walk from most things! But yes, we very much recommend!

Fantastic hotel. Staff are amazing and attentive, and location is ideal. Stayed here for 3 nights and cannot fault anything… on our last day we checked out at 8am and left the Moxy. Later that evening we got news that we were delayed a few hours and decided to have another walk around Shambles but didn’t want to carry luggage around. We made our way back to hotel and asked the very kind staff could we leave luggage there while we explored even though we were not staying there again, and before I could even get the question finished the answer was “YES, OF COURSE! ” immediately started taking our luggage and sorting it out, and put it into a locked room for safety. Nothing was a problem for the staff. Excellent service, clean, quirky, lovely food provided and reasonably priced. The cocktails and bar are lovely, loads of seating for our party, and one night we may have gotten a little tipsy, the bar staff were so attentive, and allowed us to have a bit of fun without issue, I have stayed in some very high end hotels but the Moxy York is up there with the best. Less than a 10 minute walk to the shambles, shopping and food. 10 minute walk to Minster. Quiet area and the rooms have soundproof windows, so u hears nothing from outside. The rooms had a decently comfortable bed. No safe or wardrobe. The bathroom had a bag odor coming from it that smelled like sewage which was a disappointment. No usb-c plugs and only USB on one side of the bed. The front desk and bar staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a decent spread of eggs, sausage, hash browns, cereal, porridge, fruits, cheese, meats, coffee and tea and a few other things. The hotel seems new and was nice. We watched some of the fifa world cup in the bar area and it was nice.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Moxy for two nights during our trip to York. The hotel is in a perfect location just a short walk from the city centre. Nice clean and modern rooms with a comfy bed and everything you needed for an enjoyable stay. We liked the quirky decor around the hotel, particularly in the bar. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. You also get a free drink on arrival which is a nice touch. Overall, we had a great stay and are looking forward to returning in the future!!
