This hotel is starting to feel really grimy. I’ve stayed a few times and often get upgraded- this time I didn’t and the room had a really strong mould smell coming from the bathroom and was generally quite dirty. The steam room was the same and I woke up feeling ill.

Our stay at Park Plaza London Waterloo was extremely disappointing. At 1am, water was leaking through our bathroom ceiling, forcing a room move in the middle of the night with our five-year-old child. The replacement room was clearly not cleaned — chewing gum on the hard floor, dirty surfaces, fingerprints on mirrors, and amenities not refilled. While the night staff were polite, the overall standards were unacceptable for a hotel of this level. Most concerning has been the follow-up. After two months of chasing the hotel following their initial email confirming a refund of two nights plus £100 goodwill, they are now claiming they have no record of this agreement, leaving Expedia to intervene. Poor maintenance, substandard housekeeping, and zero accountability. Save yourself the stress and book elsewhere.

I recently stayed at Park Plaza London Waterloo and unfortunately it wasn’t the experience I’d hoped for. The room felt scruffy and very tired, with visible wear and tear that made it feel overdue a refresh. The bathroom in particular looked worn and dated, which really let the overall stay down. Breakfast was chaotic and unpleasant — it genuinely felt like a refuge camp. It was overcrowded, disorganised, and the food was cold, which made for a very disappointing start to the day. Check-in at reception also took an age. After travelling, the last thing you want is to stand around waiting for a long time just to get your room key. The only real positive was the location, which is excellent and very convenient for getting around London. However, for the price paid, I expected far better. Sadly, I wouldn’t return or spend my hard-earned money here again.

I’ve stayed here twice. The first time I had insects in my bathroom, I noticed as I departed. I was offered an upgrade next time I came to the hotel. My second visit I had a fantastic upgrade. The bad news is that hotel staff decided they needed to come into my room to look for pillows (??) which they didn’t find. Also on that trip the hotel gym had several very young children in it, they were accompanied by an adults but were ‘playing’ in some of the equipment. A massive safety issue for them. The hotel itself is wonderful, the breakfast is great, the rooms are fantastic, but I have been disappointed in both of my trips.

Bad staff at check-in and at dinner. Room wasn't prepared with sofa bed setup Dinner was very expensive and very average. Premier inn food is better. Pool was fine - But issues with towels and dressing gowns. Know you need to book pool ahead. Room was fine/clean and beds were comfortable

Room was dirty under the sofa bed - caked in dust and litter. The hotel offer a ‘gift’ if you opt out of maid service every day, but this meant no maid service at all, so our bins were overflowing, we ran out of toilet roll twice and towels too. No heated towel rail or lamps. Breakfast was basic and pancakes were packet ones and being heated in their plastic! Very basic food, no honey etc. They ran out of bowls every morning and staff weren’t refreshing the stock of milk or food very quickly. Pool was FREEZING and children were shivering, again no towels available as they couldn’t keep up. It was ok for the location but that was it. We had a glass smash by one of our children on the night time and housekeeping was asked to fully clean the room as there were shards everywhere. We wet back up and there was still glass in the beds and on the carpet etc. They came back and changed the bedding but we let finding glass on the floor as they hadn’t hoovered it swept it up. Very poor!
