The owner was amazing with us and the dinner was phenomenal, it is very close to the train station, Roma station and cruise terminal so it was perfect for connecting to anything by wall.

We did not actually stay at the hotel, as there was nobody there to allow access. Booking in was from 2pm, but there was nobody there and upon ringing the phone number advertised on the door, it was ‘unobtainable.’ After waiting for 40 minutes - and despite the best efforts of local people trying to assist - we had to leave and seek alternative accommodation. I later discovered the hotel sent an email with instructions on how to enter, however this was sent at 2.16pm - over a quarter of an hour after the advertised booking in time. I was oblivious to this email until much later on and was not phoned as you would expect. Also, nowhere on the site does it say there would not be a receptionist or someone to welcome you. Instructions to gain entry should be received well in advance. Also, at the entrance it looks incredibly run down. I was told by the booking company that I would have to pay a penalty too - even though we could not get into the hotel because there was nobody there!!. They later apologised and said this was actually misinformation. Ultimately, I paid for accommodation I could not use, through no fault of my own. I didn’t receive any further correspondence either. If you have any sense, do not book with this company and stay well away from this hotel. It’s been the worst travelling experience in my life and ruined the one day my family and I were due to stay in Venice. There isn’t a negative word strong enough to express my disappointment and frustration.

The walls and ceiling and bathroom were moldy. The hairdryer and shower head were broke. The second morning we woke, there was no electricity. We woke up with bug bites all over. I would never stay there had I known what we would be experiencing.. The lady that checked us in was very nice, but there was no one there on a regular basis.

The checkin process allows people to pick a key off the board and go to whatever room they like. We arrived and our larger room was occupied and we could do nothing about it. It was especially awful because we reserved a room for three people and only had beds for two. There wasn’t time to switch hotels so one of us had to sleep on the floor. The operators said she would try to find us another room, but never called us back. They made no effort to help us find a solution. Would NOT recommend! It the airconditioner wouldn’t work, so the night was HOT and especially awful. The city is beautiful, I recommend coming but stay somewhere else. I requested to get money back, but no word for the host yet. I’ll update if I can.

The price for the hotel is excellent considering the very good evening meal is included. Perfect budget accommodation. A little tired but clean and with helpful staff. The uniqueness was it was on the water. It was the worst room I’ve ever been in. It was cold outside, but the heater wouldn’t come on till 6:00pm. The water in the sink was only a trickle. The bed was 2 old single beds shoved together instead of a queen size as we booked. We checked in on a Saturday at noon and by 6:00pm I moved us to another hotel. Thank goodness I did because the next morning the entire first floor had 2 feet of water in it and you couldn’t get in or out until noon. BE WARNED!

The location was perfect! Check-in not so much. There was nobody there when we arrived. That was around noon. So we went across the canal to sit and eat while we tried to decide what to do. Check-in was listed as beginning at 2 p.m. so we hoped someone would show up at that time. The server at the restaurant we ate at offered to call the person at the hotel, which was wonderful of him. Then it was arranged that the hotel person would meet us there. After was ate, we went back across the canal and someone came to let us in. She was very unfriendly and barely spoke to us. The room was okay, with a great view, but what bothered us was what appeared to be black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. Then again, at check-out, nobody was there to take our room key so we had no choice but to just leave it on a hook where other room keys were hanging. Overall, I would have to rate this establishment at so-so. But again, if none of the above would bother you, the view from our room was lovely.
