Hotel Cortezo

Excellent hotel, great service and location. Very good included breakfast.

Good area to get around. Gluten free breakfast items available. Had junior suite which had balcony, which was an unexpected bonus for a bit of December afternoon sunshine.

Area was noisy. Hotel very basic. Few amenities and bathroom tiny without counter space. No drawers and small closet. Breakfast was buffet only. Pretty good location and get good walking shoes. Madrid is a maize and sea of people.

The photos on their website and booking platforms (I booked through Hotels.com) are misleading compared to the actual condition of the rooms. As others have pointed out, the front desk staff is far from welcoming. There was concerning mold in the shower, and the vents were filthy. The Wi-Fi in the rooms was unreliable, forcing us to use our own data. The manager dismissed our concerns, claiming they reached out to offer a room change—which never happened. They ignored our emails about the false advertising and hygiene issues and only offered a 10% discount on our next stay. Honestly, when am I ever coming back to Madrid from Canada? What a joke. Hotels.com is also failing to address the false advertising, but I will continue to pursue both the hotel and them until we are properly compensated.

Great position, very close to Mercado de San Miguel, Santa Ana and Plaza Mayor. The staff was very attentive and gentle, giving me all the information regarding the best way of exploring the city on foot. The bathroom was too small, but it could be solved by add a shower instead of a bath.

Nice room, remodeled bathroom, high ceilings … staff friendly and competent… noise from other guests was a problem, need carpets, devices to soften door slams, and general soundproofing

Everything was very good, the hotel, room, bathroom, location, soroundings AND a very nice staff. I liked it very much.

Hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance to the museums, main city areas of interest, and shopping.

Great location and nice hotel. I would definitely recommend. To be nitpicky, the pillows are terrible, we had some issues with our key multiple nights and the air-conditioner wasn't turned on so we had to open windows, which is noisy.

Very comfortable hotel to stay. Located in central location which is walkable to Placa Major, Mercato de San Miguel, Puerta del Sol and Gran Via. Bit busy on the road downstairs but there are wonderful coffee shops, tapas restaurant, Carrefour and Lidl supermarket near by.

Amazing location and staff

We enjoy our stay at Hotel Cortezo. Location is excellent, walking distance to the main attractions. I give a 4 stars only because they were renovating, so the areas where they were painting looked like a construction zone.The breakfast is great! To all the staff all I can say is thank you. They are very friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay here again.
