Hotel St-Denis

It's an older hotel but it's clean and the beds were excellent. Location is a reasonable walk to Old Montreal so very good for vacationers. The price was quite good, given the location and condition. I would recommend it. However ... our colleagues reported to the front desk that their room had been left unsecured after cleaning (which is totally understandable - the cleaning folk likely just didn't pull the door fully shut - it happens and we weren't upset by that) but the bearded young gentleman working the front desk barely acknowledged it, made absolutely no apology on behalf of the hotel, and essentially walked away from us, and muttered that he'd tell someone about the room (but didn't ask which room number and hadn't checked us in so wouldn't know). He made no effort to greet people (when he wasn't smoking outside the front entrance). It left a bad impression of what was otherwise a very good hotel - unfortunate.

Exactly what we needed for 1 night. Fairly priced and staff was accommodating since we arrived 1.5 hours before check-in. We booked 2 beds and was pleasantly surprised when our room had 2 rooms in it!

Cold a/c, clean room & wonderful staff.

Plus difficile de se rendre à notre voiture. Les portes étaient barrées du stationnement. Sinon, la chambre était très bien. Le pommeau de douche serait à changer ainsi que le bain. Usure

Staff was great. I’ve heard that people in Montreal aren’t that great once they realize you don’t speak French but all 4 staff members I encountered were great.

The hotel is located in old building in drug addicts area, and industrial areas with everything closed after 5pm on weekdays and after 3 pm weekends.

The woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. There is a cool spot in the basement to hang out— a bit musty, but it has a pool table, table/chairs for games etc., and stone walls/arches. Quiet not a lot of people/noise, elevator always available. Parking garage around the corner (no in/out privileges but reasonable), close to Metro. Recommend.

Best deal in Montreal! Very affordable while being in a central location. Friendly staff, clean, comfy, and spacious rooms :)

Think "no-frills" and you will be delighted to stay in this cute hotel from 1916. There are old fashioned radiators for heat that work very well. There are newly installed heat pumps in the room (for a/c) that are not operational yet, so we cracked a window if we wanted some fresh air. The room and bathroom were very clean. Beds were comfortable enough. There is a small mini fridge in the closet. I wish there had been an extra pillow or blanket in the closet. TV worked fine. We had a decent stay. There is also secure, covered parking around the corner on Rue Christin for about $15 CAD/day. Some ruffians in the area, so be aware. Staff was very helpful in suggesting good local restaurants. Metro stop is a block away.

The airdryer was not working, the walls were cracked ans the office chair was all ripped. The bed was nice and comfortable. The room was clean and the staff was friendly
