Princess Hostel Amsterdam

The room was very dirty, lots of flies as the bin hadn't been emptied from the last guests and the carpet was very stained, with rubbish bags and bags of bedding up all the way up the already steep stairs. There was a group of people being turned away last minute as we arrived and we had to fill out a check in form despite already having to do online check in forms which provided the same information. There was also only cold water for showers and hand washing, and then the water cut out entirely when we returned in the evening and wasn't reinstated until morning. This was difficult as my partner and I became quite ill and weren't able to get to reception to purchase water so ended up very dehydrated. Water should have been provided to the rooms in bottles during the cut.

Honestly amazing vibes super friendly and helpful staff, the room was a bit cramped but for 11€ honestly it's a hidden gem 💎

My stay was the worst I've had of anywhere I've stayed. Within the room, the floors, sink and walls were dirty. The bathrooms were dirty and ran out of toilet paper quickly. The curtains were missing, which meant I had to turn off the lights to change (to not be viewed by others on the streets and in buildings across the street). The first day the internet/entire system went down and I wasn't able to access my keys, and the code I was given was wrong. I wasn't able to do work or use the internet at all. The second day the water went out which meant that the toilets didn't flush and the sink didn't work. This meant guests were using the bathroom and unable to flush. I will never stay here again.

🚫 Avoid this hostel at all costs! 🚫 This was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had! A staff member from Portugal at reception scammed me for €10 “early check-in” and €5 luggage storage after checkout — later I found out there’s no such policy, he just pocketed the money. The beds are infested with bed bugs. After just one night, my wife’s arms and legs were covered in painful bites. Doors don’t lock from the inside; staff can open them anytime with their keys. Unsafe and untrustworthy. The entrance is dirty, with staff and others constantly blocking the way, smoking joints and making it uncomfortable to pass.

Terrible experience, we can’t stay, the place is not in any good situation for a stay. Please its not acceptable. The bedroom with bedbugs, windows without any cover Shower without water Smelling weed everywhere

AVOID AT ALL COST!! The hostel was one of the worst I've ever visited. I was sold a dream by the pictures. Bedbugs on the bed and the sheets covered in blood from the bedbugs. Would not recommend staying here

Pior lugar que já fiquei na vida, banheiros sujos, quartos sujos, cozinha tava insalubre, não tinha papel higiênico e instalações péssimas, deveria ser proibido um ambiente assim aqui na plataforma…

Terrível do começo ao fim. Cheguei no quarto que iria dormir tinha outra pessoa na minha cama. Gente dormindo até no chão. Me trocaram de quarto e não atualizaram no sistema cheguei de noite novamente tinha outra pessoa na minha cama. A única coisa aparentemente higienizada era a cama. Todo o restante muito sujo. Carpete imundo, não tem nada a ver com as fotos divulgadas no aplicativo. Corredores mal cheirosos, banheiros nojentos. A água do “chuveiro” molha tudo menos você que está embaixo. Muito barulho de portas batendo de madrugada, impossível dormir. Os dois dias que fiquei lá foi um pesadelo do começo ao fim.

I can't begin to describe the filth in their toilets!!! The workers care less, not enforcing bed allocation. Found several bed bugs, bad carpet upholstery causing fall.

Everything about the Princess Hostel was a lie. From the pictures online, to the amenities. There was smoking of cigarettes & marijuana in the building. Remnants of both in the bedroom and the shared bathroom. There was a pair of socks left in our room and on the balcony. There was electrical hanging out of the wall. There was no toilet seat in the shared bathroom, and it looked as though it hadn't been cleaned ever. There stairs, walls, and floors were in horrible repair. There were 20 garbage bags on the landing for the stairs, which looked to be old laundry waiting to leave the building? All the pictures online for both Expedia and the Princess Hostel site look to be in very good repair, well painted, etc...but this looks like they staged one room, or the pictures are 10 years. Do not be misled by these photos, as nothing in the hostel looks like this. The front desk is cluttered and disorganized. When I approached the front desk about all these concerns, all I was told is there is no Refund, and I can stay, or look to book elsewhere. No discussion at all. This is the most unprofessional way to conduct business. And I'll be sure to share this review on every platform, as many times as I can to be sure everyone has this information!!!! I'm not happy with Expedia either. I emailed Expedia, and I didn't get any response. As well, they do not share any responsibility in trying to help attain a fair outcome for clients that book through the site. I'm VERY disappointed!!

Wir hatten nicht einen angenehmen Aufenthalt. Überall ums Bett herum lag Müll des letzten oder der letzten Gäste, es war staubig und wir hatten Bettwanzen. Wir planten 5 Nächte dort zu verbringen und nach dreien wurde es zu viel und wir mussten von dort weg. Die Toilette war direkt neben unserem Zimmer und weil die Türe der Toilette kaputt war und somit nicht zu schliessen, roch es während dem Schlafen nach Urin - kein angenehmer Geruch. Bei Ankunft war das Fenster offen, doch schnell bemerkten wir, auch das lässt sich nicht schliessen. Es war auf der einten Seite sogar fast ganz draussen. Kann also nicht mehr lange dauern bis es ganz draussen ist. Wenn man sich die anderen Rezensionen auf Google anschaut, fällt auf, dass dies kein Einzelfall war und sich auch schon andere Gäste darüber beschwert haben. Ich hoffe das Hostel nimmt sich das zu Herzen und schaut in Zukunft mehr auf solche Anliegen.

The rooms are in worse shape than in the pictures on the site. Holes in the walls, there was still garbage on the floor left by previous guest and we found a bug on the pillow. A plus for receiving a refund with the help of great staff at hotels.con, but I have not received any replies to my emails I sent the hostel manager (got the email address from the receptionist, who also offered us and another guest bug spray) nor the messages I sent through hotels.com app several days prior to my stay. Also, I forgot something in my room and wanted it back, did not receive a reply to that either. As I want to be mindful and respectful, I will not post the pictures I took where for example other guests and employees are featured and I will delete them now that I received my refund. Pictures attached are instead of the mentioned wall and garbage.

Hostel prinsesse er ikke et sted jeg vil anbefale andre. Renligheden er dybt skuffende, der lå støv over alt og jeg fandt blodplettet på mit såkaldte rene sengetøj. Værelset var i dårligt stand, med huller og spartelmærker overalt, gulvtæppet var ikke støvsuget og der var pletter på væggene. Derudover blev de tre dele toiletter ikke gjort grundigt rent og vi måtte op til flere gange efterspørge toiletpapir uden held. Badet er som sådan i orden, dog manglede der en lås og man skulle dele et bad med 7værelser. Vi forventede et køkken til madlavning, dog var renligheden her dog også helt i bund samt mangel på service og køkken redskaber. Beliggenhed var god, men vægter ikke op for hvor lousy værelser og resten af hoslet var.

Quando siamo arrivati ci è stata assegnata una stanza (3 metri x 2) che aveva ancora i letti da rifare e che non è stata assolutamente pulita. Il materasso pullulava di acari e altri piccoli insetti, che probabilmente vivono nella moquette della stanza. La finestra era rotta, senza tende e non si poteva chiudere... Tralascio le condizioni dei servizi igienici...
