Des Alpes Luzern

The room was clean and well appointed. I found the bed to be a little too firm. Our room faced the back side of the hotel and because there's no air conditioning and we had the window open it was noisy. The clock bell towers go off every hour on the hour. Sleeping for me was challenging. The location is good with everything within walking distance.

Staff was very helpful. Amazing location. Rooms were upgraded and clean. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel was located well. Old Town. 8 minutes from train/bus station. Shops…restaurants..bars…pubs nearby. City bus pass a nice perk. Biggest negative was no AC. We were there during a hot spell in July. Cooling off roof was a slow and not very effective. When returning from day trips we had to open up patio doors and leave them open all night as we tried to sleep. We are season travelers and when paying over $500 a night we expect more comfort.

No air conditioning - IMPOSSIBLE to SLEEP!!! NO Parking. Must park at the train station - cost 60 CHF per day.

Amazing staff (Reception, cleaning ladies and the entire restaurant folks). ONE CANNOT BEAT THE LOCATION - Right in front of Chapel Bridge, walkable to Lucerne train stations, buses, boats, restaurants, shops etc. Rooms are small and NO A.C.

Una decepción la habitación que nos dieron en el 5to piso vista a la ciudad , un verdadero horno , no corresponde a lo que cuesta , las ventanas muy pequeñas, entraba poco o nada de aire , aunque nos facilitaron dos ventiladores , creo que estar tan cerca del techo hizo que pasáramos unas noches terribles , Agradecemos que nos Dieron el desayuno y la ubicación es inmejorable pero no volveríamos

O quarto com sacada eh incrível para o rio, banheiro moderno mas sem ar condicionado no quarto

Great location

Great hotel, amazing location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms on the small side, but renovated, modern and clean. Downside is no air con, but we had a fan which was fine (35 degrees c during our stay)

Des Alpes has a great location,by the river and close to the train station. Staff were excellent, very helpful all the time. The attached restaurant had great service and food. The problem I had is that the hotel has no AC (historic structure and all that). That was not clear when I booked, otherwise I probably would have gone with a different hotel. Also, the room was at the top level, and the attic room had little headroom for about half of the room. Quaint but a problem for a tall person. I do not remember the room I booked being indicated as a dormer room. It will be good for Des Alpes to be clear about the lack of AC, and the type of room.

The location cannot be beat. In the heart of old town luzern and on the river. The staff were friendly and helpful. A wonderful staff.
