Great hotel, amazing location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms on the small side, but renovated, modern and clean. Downside is no air con, but we had a fan which was fine (35 degrees c during our stay)

Des Alpes has a great location,by the river and close to the train station. Staff were excellent, very helpful all the time. The attached restaurant had great service and food.
The problem I had is that the hotel has no AC (historic structure and all that). That was not clear when I booked, otherwise I probably would have gone with a different hotel. Also, the room was at the top level, and the attic room had little headroom for about half of the room. Quaint but a problem for a tall person. I do not remember the room I booked being indicated as a dormer room. It will be good for Des Alpes to be clear about the lack of AC, and the type of room.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Luckily they provided a fan, there is no A/C and the room was a little warm. We had a voucher to use in the restaurant for a delicious breakfast with window views out to the river. Central location. It was perfect for our one night stay. Would definitely recommend.

We loved our 2 night stay at Hotel des Alpes in Lucerne for the proximity to the train station and the views. The staff were so welcoming and always interested to know about our activities each time we came in and out of the hotel. We ate dinner in the restaurant our first night; the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Although breakfast was not included, we ate in the restaurant both mornings and again, the food was delicious. We would absolutely stay here again if and when we come back to Lucerne.

The hotel was in a convenient location only a several-minute walk from Luzern train station and had a bus station literally a stone's throw away. My room was on a slight slope funnily enough.
