Here’s a more relaxed and personal second review version:
We enjoyed our first stay here so much that we actually came back to Saigon 9 Rivergate for a few final days to unwind before flying back to the UK after travelling around Vietnam.
This time our host was Nolan’s brother, Scott, who was incredibly friendly, relaxed, and welcoming. He helped us with our luggage when we arrived and genuinely asked how the rest of our trip had been, which was a really nice personal touch after a long journey back into Ho Chi Minh City.
The apartment was once again spotless, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing before a long flight home. The air conditioning worked brilliantly, the shower pressure was excellent, and having the kitchen, fridge freezer, and nearby shops downstairs made everything really convenient.
We also used the pool this time and the process was super simple. Access was sorted quickly through a short text message and everything was smooth and hassle-free.
The modern smart TVs with Netflix built in were also great for chilled evenings after weeks of travelling around the country.
Overall, another fantastic stay. The combination of the location, comfort, security, and genuinely welcoming hosts made it somewhere we were very happy to return to.

We had a brilliant stay at Rivergate Saigon 9 hosted by Nolan. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, easy, and completely hassle-free from start to finish.
For the price, the apartment was excellent and exceeded expectations. After walking around Ho Chi Minh City in the heat, the air conditioning worked perfectly and made coming back to the apartment incredibly comfortable. The shower pressure was also fantastic, which was very appreciated after long days out in Saigon.
The apartment itself was clean, modern, and very well equipped. Having a full kitchen with a fridge freezer was extremely convenient, especially for longer stays. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, mugs, chopsticks, forks, knives, and other essentials. The inclusion of travel extension ports was also a thoughtful touch that made things easier for international travellers.
The modern smart TVs with Netflix built in were another great addition and perfect for relaxing in the evenings after busy days sightseeing and photographing around the area.
The security around the building made us feel very safe throughout our stay, and having shops, food, drinks, and fresh fruit available right at the base of the building was incredibly convenient.
The location was excellent as well, just a short Grab ride or even a manageable walk into the centre.
Overall, a fantastic stay and somewhere I would happily recommend to anyone visiting Ho Chi Minh City.

The ad is for an apartment with INFINITY POOL as stated in the name of the listing. NOWHERE on Hotels.com does it say the pool is closed on EVERY MONDAY. We only booked the hotel because of the pool and it was not available. The apartment has peeling wallpaper, mild damage in the halls, and water damage on the ceiling of the room. The furniture is cheap and outdated. Don’t stay here if you are hoping for an infinity pool on a Monday.

This was about the fifth time that I have stayed in this building (not this unit). I like the location of the building as it is close to all of the things that I like to do when visiting HCM. This was definitely the nicest unit that I have stayed in. The unit could use some patchwork as there was a small hole in the ceiling in the master bedroom, the toilet seat in the master bathroom appears to be broken or loose, and the mattress in the master bedroom needs to be replaced. If those things are taken care of, I would give this place 5 stars. As I said, in comparison to the other units I have stayed in, this one is the nicest and has awesome views of the city. I would definitely stay there again.

BUT….
Check in was a huge pain. No response to my messages until last minute to understand how to check in and then was fine.
The pool could only be accessed from 10am-4 pm and had to be escorted by the owner to go, message ahead of time. A little weird.
The AC functioned just fine in the place i stayed. It was nice to have a washer in the room.
The building says no short term rentals so that felt sketchy to me.
For the price i would stay again but wouldnt pay more.

I booked this at the last minute it was kind of worried I would have problems checking in as I got a message afterwards that said there was no front desk and I needed to arrange beforehand to get in. Luckily I was able to get a hold of Nolan through Expedia and he met me to let me in. This was a super clean homey room with a kitchenette and a full fridge. The pool was very nice and the building was very secure. There were stores such as 7-Eleven downstairs and a pharmacy for convenience.

The stay was amazing. The unit was very big. It has everything you would need from washer, AC, stove...and everything was in great working order.
Our host Nolan is 10 out of 10. He was super polite, responded right away and was so accommodating. Everytime we needed something he was on top of it.

This place is dodgy. A bunch of sublet rooms even though there is signage all over the building saying no subletting. There is no reception and security shuffled us over to wait in front of the 7/11. We were told no pool on mondays (even though this was the entire reason we booked the room) and then headed up there after 5pm when cleaning had finished. The pool area was full of people but the people on the table at the entrance informed us that we were not allowed in, our host told us that pool access was not for us on this day?
Weird experience, not as advertised. Stay away.
