Great ressort

They were definitely the highlight of the resort experience. However, I was disappointed with the overall management of the property. Both pools were poorly cleaned and lacked proper maintenance. Entertainment was limited, and music in the restaurants and around the pool areas was inconsistent or completely absent at times, which affected the overall ambiance. There was also confusion about the main pool’s closing time—staff gave me inaccurate information, which was frustrating. On my first night, my room had not been cleaned prior to my arrival, which was unexpected and unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. Additionally, the resort grounds had an ongoing issue with flies and mosquitoes, which made it difficult to fully relax. The beach was covered in seaweed and wasn’t cleaned until my third day there. By then, many guests—including myself—chose to visit local beaches off-site, which was disappointing considering beach access was a key part of choosing this resort. This resort has potential, but management needs to step up its game in maintenance, cleanliness, communication, and entertainment Offerings. The live band from 7:30-10pm wasn’t enough.

Everything was great here! Air conditioned restaurants would be the only thing that would've made it better.

This resort had incredible food. Not one thing disappointed and my husband and I are fussy eaters. We weren’t sure what food would be like. It did not disappoint and staff was friendly and happy all the time and very attentive and helpful with guiding you to do activities o r tours and shopping off site and the gift shop surprisingly had beautiful items at great prices would highly recommend this property. It was beautiful and so many areas to relax in and things to do

The staff Is what makes this place excellent. Everyone has been extremely friendly and accommodating. Room was great, entertainment same ( I loved the Virgos!), great choice of food and drinks, nice beach and amenities.

Absolutely zero negative comments. Food was incredible, buffet and a la carte restaurants. Pool area was great. Beach was great. Service in all areas of the hotel was off the scale friendly. Spa treatments and staff… EVERYTHING was fantastic. Don’t hesitate to book here.

Property was very clean. Drinks were amazing. Food was amazing. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were exceptional, especially Joan who made us feel at home. Will definitely return.

The property was nice and staff was quite friendly and helpful. What we didn’t love was that there was a defective door on our hall that slammed extremely loudly every time it closed which often times woke us up at 7am or in the middle of the night. It was very unpleasant and frequent. Additionally, the sheets were very hard-I would compare them to a brown paper bag. The bed itself was comfortable but the bedding was not. Finally, cleanliness does not seem to be a top priority in the rooms or in the bar areas where we saw lots of mold and rust (rust likely to be expected due to the humidity and beach environment). It didn’t ruin our trip but all these things combined made it so we would probably try to find another option if we came back.

Property run down, definitely needs a facelift. Only meals is Buffett for breakfast , lunch and dinner. They have two specialty restaurants which are very good but you’re allowed to eat in one of them one time. We actually paid for a second night to eat there for $25 person. Only one pool opened. Refrigerator in room Not stocked for an all inclusive. Staff very friendly and nice.

Nice small boutique hotel right on the beach with amazing food.

Nothing bad about the Sugar Bay, but nothing Wow either. Serving staff were very good and friendly, front desk less so. Hotel now somewhat dated. All inclusive decent, although Sizzle Steakhouse a fairly predictable steakhouse. Rum cocktails good, wine list disappointing. Overall a pleasant stay, but won’t be returning as we have been to better.

One of the best resorts I have EVER stayed on! The food was so fresh and delicious, different options everyday. I didn’t even dine at the restaurants as intended because the buffets were SO GOOD! The drinks were spot on every time, delicious and generous with alcohol. I have never been around such friendly staff from start to finish. Everyone greeted you warmly and had a smile. The leadership at Sugar Bay must be doing something right because staff seem happy and it makes for a quality experience. I rarely feel like I’d want to return to the same place but I would 100% return to Sugar Bay! Amazing!!!
