It would have been nice if on the web site it would have said their pool was closed. That was a big disappointment. They only have coffee until 1pm. Other than that it was ok. Nothing special.

Room was clean and the staff was super friendly and nice

Check-in was quick and parking was available close to the room which made it easy to off load luggage. That attached Denny's was a nice feature. We had dinner there and it was nice to not have to leave the hotel and get back in the car after a long drive in the car to find dining. On the morning of check-out the hotel lost power, so we checked out quicker than normal, as we had planned to visit Denny's again for breakfast, but the restaurant also did not have power. The room was comfortable and quiet and we would stay again next time we are travelling through Cranbrook.

We left after a mouse ran across our room! Staff admitted they have a mouse problem. They promised us a full refund.

Room was clean but the tap in the tub dripped all night. Pool was not open either.

Central location, lots of parking.

I had a good experience good night sleep quiet, good staff comfortable bed and a nice breakfast in the morning. Would recommend to anybody traveling.

Very old property but seams to be well maintained. Very small bathroom.

Property is old but well maintained. Small bathrooms. If you’re a larger person you may have difficulties with manoeuvring around.

Ita a mediocre at best kind of stay

Had a great stay.

Room needs to be renovated, pool was not open and in need of repair. Carpet was stained. Limited TV channels. Too expensive for the condition of room

Overall it was a decent stay. The pool was “closed for maintenance” for the duration of our stay. I wish we had been told when booking as that was part of the reason we booked that hotel. The room had been maintained and you can see they fix what they can as well as they can. It could use an update but overall it was clean and decent. The pool has hours listed on it. The fitness room does not have hours nor was I informed of the hours when checking in but when I was halfway through my workout I was told it was closed. I incorrectly assumed it must be open whenever since there were no hours posted. So that was embarrassing and I left as quickly as I could. So ask about the hours before using the fitness room. It has 3 machines. A treadmill (which doesn’t stop without pulling the emergency cord or decreasing the speed all the way) an elliptical and sitting bike and then some mats and weights. It is decent for what it is. Overall, I might stay there again as it worked for what I needed it for but I’ll be asking about the pool before booking and asking about the hours of the fitness room as I still don’t know those.

Great sleep

Rooms was clean and had everything we needed. Having Dennys attached to the hotel was incredible convenient with them being open all hours and serving something for everyone, we had dinner and breakfast there and everyone enjoyed the food and the staff there were great also. Great location just minutes away from where we needed to be and close to anything you could need in Cranbrook. Would definately stay at this Sandman again for the great location and easy access to food at the Dennys.

The only thing that saved this from one star was the extremely helpful staff. The thermostat in our room was broken and it was hot as the tropics, and we found ants in the bathroom (mid February). We switched rooms only to find that we couldn't adjust the temperature in our second room and had to open the window to get cool air. Walls and carpets were filthy.
