DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa Chester

Stay at Doubletree in Chester was very good. The room was very clean, bed was super comfy and it was very modern. The hotel décor, spa facilities, restaurant and bar area including the outside area and patio was well maintained. One particular Receptionist had no clue how to do her job whatsoever. The other Receptionist not too sure of her name, a younger girl was very pleasant and clearly knew how to do her job well. Two things needed to be improved, we tried to check in our room just after 3pm and it wasn't ready. We decided to go and have a drink on the patio as it was a very hot day, the clueless Receptionist wasn't very apologetic at this and tried to make out we were wrong, when in fact we were right that we could check in at 3pm as stated on the app!! It was extremely busy as we stayed over a Bank Holiday and clearly, the staff were not prepared for the amount of people who were staying, breakfast was very busy, tables weren't laid out, no clean cutlery on there or mug available, I had to ask a waitress fornsome for me and my husband. The breakfast was good quality and even better included in the price. The location of the hotel is ideal and central if wanting to explore Chester. Would certainly recommend and the welcome cookie was a nice added extra.

A hotel that has been carefully planned. Great location and layout, with good onsite facilities - the gym and spa are rightfully busy. However I was surprised to have no housekeeping visit to make up my room on the first day and a very unhelpful person to talk to when I called at 3.45 pm on the second day asking when my room might be made up. The answer was that they were behind with ‘stayers’ because they had a lot of people checking out. No apology and lots of silence on the phone. I was left feeling that it was my fault… Once a member of housekeeping services arrive half an hour later, she said she’d only need 5 minutes - and she did a great job. Not a character experience.

Friendly, professional and caring management. Traveling with my handicapped father and the management team was compassionate and very supportive. A+++ experience. I recommend the hotel for those with handicapped family who wish to enjoy a respectful and caring experience.

Beautiful hotel, clean, spacious rooms, good service fron reception and a yummy chocolate cookie on arrival! Food is expensive and not much of a variety so decided to eat out. Spa was very relaxing with a pool, outdoor/indoor jacuzzi, stream rooms, sauna and aroma room. Plenty of beds available around 4pm but became busier after 5. Overall had a lovely time and we look forward to our next stay!

Wonderful stay! Staff were so friendly and helpful! Room was immaculate! Breakfast was delicious, well organised and well presented! Spa was lovely, used indoor and sat on the upstairs terrace! Garden space around the hotel was lovely! Bar staff were so kind! Lovely experience!

Restaurant menu had limited choice

We had a superior room which was a little small but a really strong shower. The bar service was slow due to staff making coffees most of the time. Food choice was really quite limited but the breakfasts were pretty good, although the bacon was piled high and had clearly been cooked much earlier and was like leather. Overal a reasonable stay and would stay again.

Really nice hotel! Feels more like a proper Hilton than a Garden Inn.

Absolutely spotless hotel, food and the staff were first class, plenty of space in the bar and restaurant. Will definitely make a point of staying there when a hotel is needed in that area.

We have stayed at this hotel before, it’s a perfect hotel for visiting Chester, if you have the use of a car, however they have started to charge £20 per person to use the pool. Reviewing the cost compared to other hotels -you can pay the same price with free access to their pools -Hilton Chester will lose our business if their prices do not remain competitive for the services offered

Highly recommend & great value for money. Rooms are immaculate. The breakfast was lovely but the bacon let it down 8/10

Clean room and beautiful environment

Food orders , Breakfast and dinner food wasn’t the best Breakfast was 4 out of 10 and my meal at dinner was Disappointing brought me the wrong meal first the had to wait and when it came for what I payed it was not good

Very thin walls! Heard everything. My perks said breakfast was included but I was charged. Room service food was terrible. 1 out of 10 do not recommend!

Hotel is lovely and clean. The staff are very friendly. The only problem is you have to pay for the gym and Paul separately. I think it was £20 for two hours.

Great breakfast.

Rooms were cleaned to an extremely high standard. WiFi worked well enough for my needs. Was only watching YouTube whilst relaxing in the evening . Wouldn't know what it would be like if i had to use it during the day for work. Breakfast was very nice. Not the most amazing selection but food items were replenished before they completely ran out and tables were cleared and cleaned very quickly

Nice hotel, nice staff very good fitness centre. The only thing that lets this hotel down is that hotel guest must pay to use the sauna. I feel very sorry for the employees on Spa reception, it must get very annoying having the same conversation with hotel guests
