DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa Chester

Lovely room, well appointed. The staff were really helpful and lovely. A great stay all round. No negatives whatsoever. Very convenient for the city but also for the motorway network. The spa was one of the best I've visited on a hotel site. Recommend highly!

Car park is big hotel is lovely. You have to pay separate for the gym even if you were a guest.

Lots of parking avaliable on site. Che k in was quick and easy.Receptionist was amazing and even gave us a cookie. Room was modern , powerful shower and a fridge. Breakfast was a buffet.The quality of food was 5 star..Asked for ice and ice appeared. Paid for spa access..Swimming pool on the cooler side .Spa pool was like being in the bath.A choice of steam rooms and a sauna. Sat on the spa terrace for a coffee and to admire the view.

Room was nice enough but not practical ..... lighting was poor, there were no bedside cabinets, there was no dressing table, there was one easy chair and one stool (it was a double room so why not two chairs) bath/shower not guest friendly, the bath plug/drain did not drain properly which resulted in my having to stand in very hot scalding water for my shower and getting bright red feet as a result, there was no toilet brush either which is a basic hygiene matter. Bar etc was comfortable enough but very expensive for what it is. Breakfast was ok but not up to standard of previous visit. They did not have any marmalade either!! Staff uniform appears to be scruffy jeans, T shirt and a soft of jacket .... not very inspiring, and difficult to tell staff from guests Reception said that as we had booked through a third party, she couldn't do anything for us ..... but we booked with you so what can you do .... bearing in mind we paid over the odds for the room with you as well.

Always a good stay here, clean crisp bedding. Only downside is the charges for using the pool and not much availability

Staff were polite and helpful, facilities good and location was good, easy to get to Chester and to the zoo.

Lovely stay at the Doubletree by Hilton, very clean and good food in the restaurant. Spa was relaxing and treatment was amazing, would definitely recommend. We got a free upgrade to a deluxe king suite also which was nice of the hotel staff :)

The stay in double Tree was excellent the staff were lovely and helpful . The rooms that all three of them that I had booked for my family were fantastic the decore and amenities in the rooms were really lovely , The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was excellent, shower was very good . The restaurant was very good , the breakfast had a very good variety and the evening meals were excellent . They have a very big free car park and the hotel & the grounds are beautiful .

Frank, the Head of Front of House was extremely friendly, accommodating and professional.

The perfect getaway

Stay at Doubletree in Chester was very good. The room was very clean, bed was super comfy and it was very modern. The hotel décor, spa facilities, restaurant and bar area including the outside area and patio was well maintained. One particular Receptionist had no clue how to do her job whatsoever. The other Receptionist not too sure of her name, a younger girl was very pleasant and clearly knew how to do her job well. Two things needed to be improved, we tried to check in our room just after 3pm and it wasn't ready. We decided to go and have a drink on the patio as it was a very hot day, the clueless Receptionist wasn't very apologetic at this and tried to make out we were wrong, when in fact we were right that we could check in at 3pm as stated on the app!! It was extremely busy as we stayed over a Bank Holiday and clearly, the staff were not prepared for the amount of people who were staying, breakfast was very busy, tables weren't laid out, no clean cutlery on there or mug available, I had to ask a waitress fornsome for me and my husband. The breakfast was good quality and even better included in the price. The location of the hotel is ideal and central if wanting to explore Chester. Would certainly recommend and the welcome cookie was a nice added extra.

A hotel that has been carefully planned. Great location and layout, with good onsite facilities - the gym and spa are rightfully busy. However I was surprised to have no housekeeping visit to make up my room on the first day and a very unhelpful person to talk to when I called at 3.45 pm on the second day asking when my room might be made up. The answer was that they were behind with ‘stayers’ because they had a lot of people checking out. No apology and lots of silence on the phone. I was left feeling that it was my fault… Once a member of housekeeping services arrive half an hour later, she said she’d only need 5 minutes - and she did a great job. Not a character experience.

Friendly, professional and caring management. Traveling with my handicapped father and the management team was compassionate and very supportive. A+++ experience. I recommend the hotel for those with handicapped family who wish to enjoy a respectful and caring experience.

Beautiful hotel, clean, spacious rooms, good service fron reception and a yummy chocolate cookie on arrival! Food is expensive and not much of a variety so decided to eat out. Spa was very relaxing with a pool, outdoor/indoor jacuzzi, stream rooms, sauna and aroma room. Plenty of beds available around 4pm but became busier after 5. Overall had a lovely time and we look forward to our next stay!

Wonderful stay! Staff were so friendly and helpful! Room was immaculate! Breakfast was delicious, well organised and well presented! Spa was lovely, used indoor and sat on the upstairs terrace! Garden space around the hotel was lovely! Bar staff were so kind! Lovely experience!
