Staff were courteous, room was clean, we had a noisy air con unit in the room and the draft in the window was very cold, we didn’t bother asking for change of room or complain as it wasn’t a big issue for a short stay, would return for the price and had a great stay in York.

Close to city centre- 10 minute walk to Christmas markets. Room was clean with lift access to rooms. Car park was a bit tight for parking but safe. Didn’t really have much need to engage with staff but checking in was straight forward. We didn’t have breakfast here but Finns a lovely cafe across the road.

Lovely hotel , staff very friendly some lovely pubs on the walk into the city centre

Location was good, room was ok, bed was comfy but the walls are a bit thin so needed to wear earplugs! Breakfast was ok but the quality of the sausages and scrambled eggs (were they even real eggs?) was pretty poor.

Parking situation is atrocious. Confirmed they only have 24 spaces for over a 100 rooms. Tried to ring multiple times to get advice as to where else I can park and couldn’t get an answer. Brought this up upon check in and was dismissed in a rude manner. What happened to customer service?

Parking was good at hotel. Was in disabled bay as my wife has a few things wrong with an hasca disabilty badge

Room was clean and staff very good in all respects. Bed, pillows etc. very comfortable.

Couldn't get parked as such a small car park, check in easy however, rooms clean and really comfy, didn't get breakfast as too hungover to get out of bed.

Staff excellent. Bag storage was just what we needed and liked the charity donation. Room clean and practical. Breakfast excellent. We have already booked to return

Friendly staff with no problems at checking in. We got there early but were allowed to leave our luggage whilst sightseeing. Clean warm room, good location with all the basics you need

Nice hotel much better since it has been refurbished stylish my only gripe is the horrible smell coming off the toilets by the lift on the gound floor

No greeting on arrival, receptionist appeared disinterested. Didn’t give any information until asked, or engage in conversation. The ground floor foyer had a dreadful odour. When I spoke to a different member of staff about this he said that all of York has a drains problem. It was the only place we were aware of it, in 2 days throughout the area. The room we were allocated was extremely dark with no central light at all. There were stairs to the bathroom (?!) with no rail, that lit up as they were stepped on. V odd. The bed was comfy but there was so much noise from what sounded like the pipes/ floorboards/ a dryer and the room above, that sleep was near impossible. The conversation of the adjoining room could be heard the walls are that thin. The only saving grace are this hotels location, the attentive staff in the breakfast room and the lovely breakfast. However, that is not enough to coax me to stay there again.

Staff were pleasant, breakfast had gaur range of choices. Room was nice but very dark and heating was hit and miss. No where to hang up towels. Parking very limited and very tight, I used a public car park

Cleam Hotel, great staff and great service, highly recommended.

The staff were so very helpful and obliging. Rooms were great for what we needed. One of our rooms was very cold. We did tell reception a few times. Each time they tried to remedy it but it was still very cold. The manager did give some refund. It was a very good stay and we wish that we’d found you sooner as this was probably the last time we’ll visit York for some time as this visit was for our daughter’s graduation. Many thanks for helping us to make it so memorable.

Location great, room on the smaller side but clean and tidy.
