Staff were friendly and very efficient at check in. Room was clean. Breakfast was excellent with a good range of items. All in all a lovely stay.

Pros: Good location, easy check in, staff were friendly enough. Appreciative a window had been left open to cool the room and have fresh air. Bed comfortable and towels changed, which is rare. Cons: Noisy room, humming heater throughout the night, stair access to room made it difficult and elevators are small and close very quickly - navigating bulky bags was a nightmare. The cost to park was not easy distinguished upon booking and also frustrating that it cannot be modified to suit your stay, having to pay the full 24 hours without full use.

Friendly staff, was able to have and early check-in. Tidy Rooms and plenty of space for bags and can store under the bed. Great selection for breakfast buffet and nice atmosphere dining room was also bar area. Only slight negative which can't be helped due to age/ design of building is thst the lifts are a bit cramped especially when there's 2 of you with full luggage but you can make it work. Definitely recommend as a place to stay and would stay again if ever back in UK and visiting York and easy walking distance to town, pubs, train station etc.

Absolutely faultless! Immaculately clean, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. Next time we stay in York it will definitely be here.

Room was clean, plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, excellent transport links, extremely helpful staff. V. Small car park. Get there early if driving! Will definitely stay here again, excellently placed to explore York.

Staff were friendly and helpful, I was able to get a space in the little carpark and had a good night's sleep.

There are shops nearby. City centre about a 10 -15 min walk. Don't miss Enoteca Italian restaurant nearby. Would definitely go back.

Lovely hotel, waking distance from the train station and city centre. Great breakfast and bar too.

Great room

The breakfast was adequate. There was minimal parking- closest car park with space was 10 minute walk and nearly £30 for 24 hours. The cleanliness of the bathroom wasn’t great and smelt musty. The room had a window whereby the curtain didn’t fit the entirety of the window which overlooked the car park- this had a huge floodlight which came through the window all night. Over all not a great experience. Complained to the hotel following my stay and they refused to provide any form of refund or compensation. For £145 a night I would have expected better. I will return to York but will not return to this hotel.
