The riom was immaculate, the staff was friendly except for the overnight reception. Was disappointed that the spa was nit open as that was the reason i booked. The restaurant was exceptional except for breakfast.

Accessible room given but not asked if this was appropriate. We were in a rush so didn’t have time to complain. Both six feet and over so low basin etc was unhelpful.

First room reeked of perfume. We were provided a different room that was fine/basic if a bit dark and oddly layed out. No slippers. Biggest complaint is that the hotel “closed” the following day at 3pm and we were not permitted to leave luggage for the day. We should have been told this in advance when we booked! Instead we had to shell out an additional 30GBP for luggage storage at the station.

Room excellent. Restaurant/bar staff not very attentive.

Great food, lovely stay will be back again

nice room…only thing was one of the taps sprang a leak so rooms dressing area tops were awash with water when we returned, night porter was helpful as we had used all our towels to soak it up, very young staff on reception dismissive at best next morning…slightly annoying thing was all the guests were required to pay an additional £25 each to be able to gain access if wanted a just a drink in the sky bar before heading out, luckily we met up with friends at theirs in York to welcome in new year…as a paying/staying guest who wasn't actually eating and paying £160 plus each in roof restaurant you would still think access would be included as was main reason booked there , to have a drink before heading out …?

Photos mislead there would be a view of the minster from the room but there was not. Bathroom was very open and not private. Needs instructions in the room on how to operate the lights. Breakfast was average.

Friendly staff on arrival. Great room with loads of space. Bright and airy. Room had all amenities we needed. The breakfast was really excellent. Thanks for a lovely stay

Great location if travelling by train. Breakfast had an amazing choice but expensive. Rooms need a bit of attention and a redecorate, and dusty / dirty in places. Lighting controls need an explanation card in the room as found out how to use them from Trip Advisor Reviews! from Trip

Always wanted to stay at Malmaison but am very disappointed now. We had very small, basic room- very dark, shabby and not very clean. So dark, couldnt see to make drinks, put on make-up etc. Beds comfy. Asked for nice view if possible but had side view of opposite building with scaffolding. Continental breakfast fabulous but cooked to order breakfast arrived cold and we had to return it. Overall, wouldnt return as i feel it is overrated and overpriced.

The room was very tight and the counters were not clean. I could also tell the countertops were pretty beat up.
