The property had staff that were helpful and polite we arrived early and the chap let us check in and order us a taxi to get into town . When it was late he kept us informed. The room was clean and spacious with a very comfortable bed . The shower products were lovely . The breakfast selection was fab and the morning staff were chatty. The hotel needs a complete overhaul it is dated and tired looking which I can imagine is disappointing for the staff that work hard . They deserve investment in the place they work . There was a front entrance before you got to the main doors that was plain awful and very off putting I was tempted to drive off but we didn’t due to our commitments .

The hotel is old and tired, ready for a much-needed refit however the staff were very friendly.

Staff were all lovely, but the hotel is like walking back into the 90’s. It was so dated, the pool/sauna/steam room haven’t reopened post covid and it just felt really neglected. Not what I’d usually expect from a Mercure

We arrived early at the hotel but fortunately for us our room was ready and available so we were able to access early. The staff on desk the were very helpfull and were able to provide us with additional teabags as requested. The room we had was an accessible room, it was very clean and tidy. There was air con in the room, only issue we had was that the temperature had been preset with no control to adjust. Breakfast was buffet style, help yourself. There was a very good selection available with a variety of teas and coffees from a coffee machine. We opted for a cooked breakfast which wasn't piping hot, but we find this is normally the case for breakfasts warmed under the counter. Other items included cereals, fruit, yogurts and pastries. We booked the hotel for an event that we attended there that evening. The hotel is dated but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Good hotel some of the areas could do with a spruce up looks tired in places. The staff are all very friendly helpful and polite. Breakfast was excellent with food variety.

The room was clean and warm The breakfast was good ) buffet style) Staff helpful But the hotel is old and tired carpets etc need replacing couldn’t see a lift anywhere if you had needed one

The room was okay, although we mived because the first room had not been properly cleaned

Clean but dated room. Damaged items of furniture. Hairdryer didn't work. Whole place has just seen better days

Plenty of parking. Friendly and helpful receptionist. Room was a good size, very comfortable bed. Breakfast selection was excellent.

It was a good stay all round. Friendly and helpful staff.

Check-in was efficient, and breakfast was decent and good value. However, our stay was disturbed by a birthday party taking place two floors below our two rooms, which lasted until midnight. The music and noise were so loud that we were unable to sleep until the party ended. When we called Reception, we were told there was nothing they could do. We would expect the hotel to manage such situations better, as the comfort of overnight guests should not be compromised by events held on the premises.

Stayed for 2 nights to attend a dear friends 60th birthday party. Plenty of free parking. Room was clean and comfortable. Room rate was reasonable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Convenient pub and Supermarket across the road. Would stay here again.

Staff very friendly but building in need of refurb. Very old fashioned and not like other mercures I have stayed at.

We stayed at this hotel as visiting family, city centre is close but unsure of time. The hotel was well positioned for us and easy accessible to major roads, loads of free parking. Staff and breakfast were great, we spoke to the ladies cleaning the room and very helpful. Parts of the room and hotel were slightly dated but the hotel and room was very clean and tidy. I would recommend.
