Breakfast is very tasty.You can choice your favorite dishes. Dinning room is very clean and fashionable. I enjoyed breakfast with beautiful sea view.

Lovely family friendly hotel. Only down sides upon arrival we were asked to pay a deposit per night for potential damages even though we had fully paid in advance of our stay. This wasn't mentioned when booking and we were told we couldn't check in until we made the payment. Hotel was noisy at night as we were on the second floor and had people above us, below us and all around. The fire doors in the corridors slam constantly through the night with people returning to their rooms at all hours. We had an adjoining door in our room which just had a bolt on it which went into someone else's hotel room which worried me when travelling alone with a young child and wasn't mentioned upon booking. We had noisy people in the next room with young children who kept trying to open the adjoining door. Unfortunately the indoor pool , changing rooms and spa facilities were unavailable during our stay due to refurbishment. They do not have enough sun loungers around the pool and people fill the ones available with towels to save them hours before they swim. breakfast was great with a good choice of pastries, cereal, fruit and hot food. My daughter loved the outdoor pool. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We loved it is a dog friendly hotel. In a great location right by the beach and a lovely park. We enjoyed the walk down the pier, shops and restaurants. There's a lovely library area in the hotel and we also had a safe inside the wardrobe in our room. We would stay again.

Hotel was rated 4star its more like 2.to3 rooms very basic and bed old and un comfortable rooms need up grading won’t be stopping there again

The grand still won’t refund £376 Out of my account beside a £390 stay And Help the money untill they received it for a stay that didn’t happen . The cieling poured with water on my last stay The staff promised to email the receipts to show the back twice this still had t happened

Amazing stay !!! The room was large with a beautiful seaview. Breakfast was perfect and we ate in The Brasserie two evenings in a row and the food was excellent. Can recommend the Grand Burger ! I had a leg treatment/ massage by Jamie in the spa which was perfect and just what I needed. Thank you Jamie ! Will definitely return to The Grand

Room was clean, we did have to report a couple of things but was sorted straightaway, balcony was ok but disappointing that you have to climb through window to access it, plenty of room and handy tea and coffee facilities. The hotel has a beautiful layout with lots of different seating areas, even a little library, to sit and relax anytime of the day, and beautiful sea views. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The outside pool is nice and plenty of loungers available. The spa is down stairs and was a nice little treat, staff really nice. Would recommend a stay here , it is located at the top of Torquay with beautiful views of the bay and a five minute walk into the start of the town with regular bus services which is outside the hotel. Breakfast is lovely choice of continental and full English. Just a few negatives: a damp smell on the third floor was quite unpleasant and could occasionally smell in room, a little daily tidy of the pool area, a little tlc inside would freshen the hotel up, parking could be awkward but right next to train station, so parking ok and the main entrance signage does let the appearance down.not all lifts were working and occasionally signs up to say not working, and when on the 3rd floor with only one lift working to that floor, was disappointing, but they did actually work, so unsure why the signs were put up, All in all a lovely pleasant stay and would recommend

Dirty windows and TV wires dangling down, lampshade stained and dirty.. Shower head leaking and dirty (room 225). Outdoor pool dirty. Hotel communal has stained walls, corridors, lift... Good location... That's all...

Property has some nice, older architect Features and looks good. The finishes inside and out could handle some refreshing and upgrading. Enjoyed our stay, once you can see past those things.

We would never recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you have children. Everything about this hotel needs to be reviewed from health and safety to ensure guests are safe, we had broken kettle, broken hairdryer, fridge in the room not working and the list is endless. I was so disappointed with the lack of service and the fact when I came down to reception staff would say I will get someone to come but no response

Beautiful old building, the reception area/bar/lounge areas were fab. A little tasty around the edges....tables literally, but I loved the feel. The outdoor, heated pool was a real bonus....I didn't expect it to be as warm as it was! Only downside, I saw someone spraying the weeds around the Pool & was unable to find out what they used! The receptionist who checked me in was amazingly helpful & cheery. The rest of the staff were very helpful, but there seemed to be an apathy/ underlying issues, which made the staff seem aloof. For a one night stay it was perfect & I would happily stay again. I really hope the staff are looked after so they can give their best selves.

Pros: location is convenient. Rooms are clean. It has swimming pool and Bar and Restaurants. Staff is well mannered. Cons: Parking is limited and an issue since the spot is closer to a beach as well as Train station. Hence, the roadside parking is hard to find while hotel parking is limited. The property has aged, the rooms are not air-conditioned. The indoor swimming pool was closed for duration of our stay. The weather was hot and hence for the charge paid, it was fair to expect air conditioning.
