ibis budget Fawkner

Didn't expect to much as budget accommodation. Car parking was good, mattress had a topper on it that was comfortable. Bathroom had mould and no shower curtain or similar so whole bathroom gets wet when showering. Had black hairs all over the floor which was gross. Paid for breakfast as front desk said it started at 6.30 when it actually didn't start until 7 which didn't suit my requirements. Room windows are double glazed but all the noise from the street comes straight in through the air con. Room key system was replaced during my stay but no notification was left on the door to inform of this. I had to enquire at reception if there had been a change. Had someone bang on all the doors in my hallway at 4.30am which was not ideal. I reported this to reception who looked into what room the person was in on the cameras. I paid for budget and that's what I got.

I have stayed at this property many times. I would describe it as simple, straight forward, the rooms are pretty small, but you have everything you need. Over the road (busy road) are Coles, Kmart, Woolworths etc. As well as McDonalds, Hungry Jacks etc. I like that this hotel is out of town. It takes around 25 minutes to get into town by car. The train station is around 15 minutes walking from the hotel. Free parking at the hotel. I really like staying at this hotel.

Cheapest around by a mile. There's always a small chance of a broken lock, toilet door that won't close etc. Wifi isn't great. But if your on a budget, you can't look past Ibis Fawkner!

The bed was really uncomfortable, our backs were sore in the morning. Poor amenities, no hair dryer. The property is out date.

The room was a lot smaller than other places I have stayed at. It wasn't really detailed clean, ensuite had scum on the bottom of shower area tiles. There wasn't a microwave in room/common areas. Only in Dining area at Breakfast. Plenty of car parks, however there was a sign at entrance charging for car park. As I don't drive, that didn't apply to me. The room was not very soundproofed, or very poorly proofed, as I could hear the baby crying from two rooms up. I did however appreciated & respected the staff @ check-in. They were very patient with me while I tried to locate ID & Credit Card, which was buried in my luggage. Extra Star for allowing me to check-in the following day; I had to attend a medical emergency with one of my Children while I was enroute to Ibis Fawkner. I had paid for 2 nights, only stayed 1 due to my emergency. No refund was offered, and no compensation either.

Didn't have breakfast, there was plenty of parking, however not impressed with having to pay extra for it.

The mattress was very bad, and during my seven days, the towels were only changed once. One of the night shift staff members had a very poor attitude. I do not recommend anyone go to this hotel.

Terrible rooms and bed

Good location, easy access, staff interactions helpful but minimal. It's fine. It's exactly what it says, it's a budget stay. Nothing was broken or filthy or advertised dishonestly. It's fine. I'm over 6 foor tall. The shower is not made for human beings on this scale, and I had to tuck my legs to prevent from accidentally kneeing the door open when using the bathroom. Economy has to come from somewhere. None of this is a knock. It was fine.

I had to wait for my room to be ready for an hour, fridge was broken it barely got cold, front door loose, I paid for 2 people stay, bed was made bunk bed wasn't, night staff very rude, I was on the phone at 11PM making a call on the main area and the guy at reception ask me to go outside to make the call because people were "sleeping" like I was taking outside people rooms. The worst "hotel" (if you can call it that) I have ever stay in my life, also I paid $220 a night! Stayed 2 night,1 star would be appropriate.

Property is what you would expect for the price.

This is an ultimate budget room. Some would say it's fine, it has a bed and bathroom but I felt very dirty in it. Box air con looks filthy, bathroom was tiny and toilet got wet when showering, no basin in bathroom, no hand towel or soap, was only given 2 pillows and they were paper thin. Would have preferred to pay an extra $50 and stay somewhere comfy across the road.

Staff was rude on arrival. One word quetions and answers. "Yes, credit card, room, stairs". Didn't say hello or welcome. Might had a bad day but really no excuse. Room was cosy, thin pillow but all in all the room was good.

I regularly stay here for work. This time was just unclean, hairs everywhere. Check in took a little long. You get what you pay for however and they are the cheapest around!

one of the reception workers was really nice, but the rest of the stay was not good. I let them know that the bathroom fan was filthy and I have asthma, they told me they would clean it but when we got back it was still filthy. and they didn't clean the fridge either. they gave a sheltered area in the corner of their carpark and random people go to smoke and drink there. I would never stay again!
