Booked this property particularly for the alleged pool that is mentioned twice in the info on Wotif. However there is no pool. Bed was not very comfortable, restaurant not open for Sunday dinner and in-room dining order seemingly went through, then after half an hour or so got an email saying the order had failed. Parking is a bit of a nightmare in the area with various construction. Pretty expensive given all these things.

Lovely hotel - staff were always very friendly and helpful. Great rooftop bar with views. Bed was so comfortable - best night's sleep I've had in ages! Good location close to cafes, restaurants, waterfront walks. The only downsides were - no free parking, confusing lift buttons (odd floor numbers on 1 panel, evens on opposite side (why??)

The Deluxe Room (1 King Bed – QT) was very spacious, with a sitting area and a large bathroom that includes double sinks and a bathtub. The room was clean, thoughtfully laid out, and highly functional. The lighting is on the darker side, which may not suit those who prefer brighter spaces, but it aligns well with the hotel’s overall mood and aesthetic. The room was also well-equipped with practical things like an ironing board, Dyson hair dryer, plenty of power points, and a minibar. The location is a standout, with cafés, restaurants, and a Woolworths Metro all within less than 50 metres of the entrance. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout the stay. I only stayed one night, so I can’t comment on the restaurant or rooftop bar. However, the room service menu was very reasonably priced and not overpriced like you might expect at many hotels. The only minor downside is the parking situation. Spaces are shared with the retail area and Woolworths, so availability can be limited, and there’s no direct access from the car park to the hotel. That said, it’s a small inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. Overall, a fantastic stay and great value for money.

I would like to thank the staff as they went above and beyond in making our stay amazing. From helping us in a pinch for some wrapping paper for a gift to bartenders know what’s a good whiskey. Absolutely amazing service. And an awesome breakfast and dinner too

As always a perfect stay in a favourite hotel. Just one note - it's about time to replace the bath towels guys....

The standard of the house keeping was poor, the floors/carpet were not cleaned properly, towel were the smallest I have ever seen in a in anything other than a 3 star hotel, our bedding was not changed during the 4 night stay. Despite booking a bed and breakfast package and a booking confirmation that said "free breakfast" and being given a 2 for one coffee voucher valid for the 4 days, when I went to check our they tried to charge me for anything other than one coffee or tea at breakfast and minor additions to the set menu like mushrooms with a smashed avo on toast. Service in the Jana restraunt was poor and the menu had very few choices, fish, chicken or 3 types of steak with side of leafy salad or chips. At roughly $70/head for main and side the meal was expensive. The restaurant on the river just down from the Hotel provided much better service and a great menu at about $50/head. Overall I was disappointed with the stay, I booked the best room for 4 days for a special occasion and found that despite the impressive decor the lack of anywhere to unpack my suitcase (no shelving of draws, just 6 coat hangers for two people) detracted for the experience. I also note that there was some really crazy omissions in the design like a make-up mirror that was set at a height the was far too high for my wife to use and could not be adjusted

Everything about the stay was great, but unfortunately the bed wasn’t very comfortable, which affected the overall experience.

We stayed at QT Newcastle expecting a premium experience given the price point, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. The hotel certainly looks stylish and modern, but the experience felt more about appearance than substance. The room itself was an acceptable size and the décor is trendy, but it didn’t fully translate into comfort or practicality. Some finishes already felt worn and the attention to detail was lacking. The in-room offerings also felt surprisingly stingy. For a room booked for two guests there was only one tea bag, no complimentary water, and only one robe provided. These are small things, but at this price level they feel basic and expected. Our arrival experience was also frustrating. We arrived early and were told the room wasn’t ready, which was fine, but reception said they would contact us when it was ready and never did. We had to follow up ourselves. Breakfast was another disappointment. Our rate included breakfast and we were given the opening hours, but what wasn’t disclosed is that the kitchen switches to a very limited menu well before closing (around 1 hour on weekends and 1.5 hours on weekdays). At that point the only option was an egg and bacon roll or vegetarian equivalent, meaning items we had paid for were no longer available. This wasn’t communicated and the response from staff was not particularly apologetic. Overall the stay felt disappointing and not worth the money. There are plenty of better choices in Newcastle.

Great and very helpful front desk, clean room, EV charging (22kW), lightweight bedding that’s appropriate for summer and aircon that gets properly cold
