Good location and a fun vibe - helpful staff and it's convenient for food and drinks Although the bar by the rooms closed at 10pm the music from an adjoining establishment and ongoing shouting in the street continued past midnight - not an issue last time I stayed, but my room this time was closest to the street.

We had a great stay at Rambutan. Undercover off street car parking was great. Room was spacious, clean and bed was comfortable. All staff we interacted with were friendly hand helpful. Great rooftop bar and restaurant for dinner as well as the Streetfront cafe for breakfast. We have stayed here multiple times and will happily stay again.

Just an overnight stay. Rooms small but very comfortable . Nice area around the pool for a beer and location was good

Great value for money. Centrally located. 10 minutes walk from coach station

As it’s on a Main Street there was a lot of noisy people until late at night & then construction noise from quite early the next morning

Love to stay here, it’s so convenient with great staff and amenities. Great upstairs bar and the food is top notch. Room was great and love the under cover parking. Definitely my place to stay when in Townsville

Great stay for the price point! It’s comfortable but a little worn and needing some love. Welcome drink and late checkout (for a fee) were both welcomed. As it’s on a main street it gets a lil noisy at night, but if you have earplugs you'll sleep through. Great vibe for sporting events though, was here for state of origin.

They take good care of their customers and remember who you are. Plus the property is amazingly clean and enjoyable.

There was no breakfast. Tea and coffee was supplied in the room but no milk. Otherwise ok.

We were in Townsville for 3 nights to attend a rugby league game at Queensland Country Bank Stadium. We had flown to Townsville and so intended to walk or catch local buses for any sightseeing. This proved a great choice as we could walk to Sealink Ferry terminal to catch the ferry to Magnetic Island and walk to the Stadium. We were across the road from the North Queensland Museum and a short walk over the bridge to the Maritime museum. The information centre is about a 10 min walk along Flinders street and the volunteers were very obliging with bus route maps and suggestions for things to do in the area. Rambutan rooftop bar has great options for dining at night at reasonable prices. Through the week the area seems very quiet as there are a lot of unoccupied buildings from the 1920's - 1940's, Friday and Saturday nights are very busy as some of these buildings now house nightclubs etc. There was a bit of noise on the Friday we stayed but it did not worry us. The main shopping centre is about 25min away by bus. The staff at Rambutan were very obliging and I would definitely stay here if I was in Townsville to attend an event at the Stadium.

I booked as a solo 61yo male traveller. First time in Townsville. The location was great to access the nearby Magnetic island ferry terminal. All rooms are gathered strong the pool and rooftop bar on level 3. Not bad Sunday to Thursday when the bar / music stops at 10pm , but not so much Fir/sat at midnight. I had a good time , but it’s a younger persons place to be in my opinion. And this layout is not described in any booking platforms

Rambutan is our first choice for our frequent visits to Townsville. The rooms are well appointed and always very clean. The location is very convenient with a range of decent restaurants in walking distance. The restaurants on site are very handy for when we just want to relax by the pool too. The standout for this hotel is the staff, especially Ryan on reception. He always makes us feel so welcome, and he is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure we have a comfortable stay.

I have not taken any breakfast due to my short trip.

If your looking for a quiet stay in Townsville, this isn't the place for you. Rooms right beside a bar that doesn't close till 10pm, then when that stops you have the night clubs next door that go till the early hours of the morning. Had to ask staff to get room amenities like tea, milk etc re-stocked

Would never stay here or recommend it. If we didn’t check in so late and were staying more than one night we would have found somewhere else to stay. We stayed in the larger room with multiple bedrooms and three bathrooms. One of the bathrooms was closed off because it was not working. The rooms were old and not cleaned well. Air conditioners were not working. Beds and pillows hard as rocks. I’m very surprised this motel was rated so high by others.

The room was clean, the pub next door was extremely loud till 3am.
