It was an elegant, beautiful, old hotel. Nice location, beautiful parks surrounding the hotel. Nice fitness center. The service was somewhat mediocre (and some staff not very friendly) compared to the elegance of the hotel. We reserved the room for 3 people, but when we went to the room, sofa bed wasn't ready. We had to call for the service. Some rooms need upgrade in their furniture. The sofa in our room was very very old and almost dirty.

I stayed at Esplanade Zagreb Hotel for two nights and had mixed feelings about the experience, therefore 3 stars. The hotel is beautiful and historic, and several staff members were excellent. The door staff, luggage service, and breakfast team were friendly, professional, and top-class. After check-in, I requested a room change due to significant street noise. The staff was helpful, and the second room was indeed much quieter. However, although I was told it was the same Superior category with the same bed type, the room felt noticeably smaller and less luxurious. Unlike the first room, the bathroom and toilet were not separated, and the overall sense of space and comfort was reduced. After the room change, I called the front desk to mention this. I was asked whether it was a “problem,” and since I did not want to be impolite, I did not label it as such at the time. At checkout, I was not asked whether everything was satisfactory, and the process felt rushed. I raised my concerns on my own initiative, but they were handled dismissively. I was told that next time I should communicate my preferences in advance, which felt contradictory, as I had already done so during this stay and my reasonable expectations were still not met. Overall, the hotel has many strengths, but consistency within room categories and the handling of guest feedback could be improved.

The staff did a great job. However, the chairs when you check in are ridiculous. They’re like 100 years old. They need to put something else in there. Also, for the quality of hotel this is you would expect hot water in the bathrooms. It was very difficult to get hot water or lukewarm.

Superior room was truly superior. The place is spotless and the amenities are truly fitting for a luxury hotel. But those physical aspects pale in comparison to the incredible staff. They go out of their way to help with EVERYTHING! I can seriously say I’ve never had better service than all aspects of the Esplanade.

I am very pleased with every stay in one of my favorite hotels, with class, elegance and professionalism, every time I feel like I am in a royal treatment but also with a warmth like in my own home!

O Hotel Esplanade Zagreb apresenta excelente estrutura, instalações de alto nível e localização privilegiada, condizentes com seu prestígio histórico. Contudo, o atendimento das equipes foi consistentemente insatisfatório, marcado por falta de cordialidade, pouca disposição para ajudar e episódios de rudeza em diferentes áreas do hotel. A experiência revelou um descompasso claro entre a qualidade da infraestrutura e o padrão de serviço oferecido.

Eines der schönsten Hotels in Zagreb mit einer ganz besonderen Atmosphäre

We needed two rooms as we are a family of 5. They gave us connecting rooms, it was a great setup. Unlike most hotels the rooms were different, each with its own character. Breakfast was very good. Location as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing staff and everything is perfect about this hotel.
