We had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Given the age of the building and heritage listing, it is beautifully maintained and provide a peaceful setting to relax and explore. We stayed in the room with a patio overlooking a garden, which made for a lovely outlook. While the room wasn't particularly large, it was clean, comfortable, and well suited to our short stay.
This is a simple, no-frills property with basic amenities, but it delivered exactly what we were expecting. The breakfast was a real highlight, offering a generous continental buffet along with freshly cooked hot breakfast options available to order. It was an excellent way to start each day.
For international travellers, it's worth noting that air conditioning isn't a standard feature in many UK hotels, so it's always worth checking before booking if this is important to you. Similarly, bar fridges are not commonly provided in UK hotel rooms, so don't assume one will be available.
Overall, we felt this stay offered excellent value for money and the opportunity to enjoy a unique property in beautiful surroundings. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, character-filled place to stay and don't mind foregoing a few modern conveniences, this is a great choice.

Paid for a particular room for 3 nights but the 1st night I was in a substandard room. I asked to be moved to the type of room I paid for & was moved the next day.
Garden area was not very inviting and bar/lounge was unmanned so unable to get drink. Woken at 8am on Sunday morning by noisy pipes that lasted a good hour. Maintenance man said nothing he could do.
Booked for a special birthday but stay was ruined by all the unnecessary problems that didn't expect in a 4* hotel.
Reception just apologised but didn't offer anything for all the inconveniences.
Should have booked a premier inn at half the price.

Fint hotel i Bath, men praktisk placering i gåafstand fra de romerske bade. Der er parkering på stedet (først til mølle), men det koster så også 15 pund. Haven der fremstår meget idyllisk på billederne er delvist fyldt af stilladser. Sengene gode og der var en blæser på værelset pga varmen. Morgenmad med ok udvalg.

Super god seng på et dejligt stort værelse. Slidte værelser med en have ør hvor håndtaget vsr i stykker. Slidt generelt hele vejen rundt.
Glimrende dyr morgenmad. Første gang jeg har oplevet buffet uden ost.

Beautiful old building and friendly welcome. Staff really helpful and room was spacious with lovely decor and a stunning view across the city and the valley. Peaceful location a mile out of the main centre of Bath, up a hill, but easily reached by regular bus service if arriving by train.

Room was very clean, staff very attentive, breakfast was very good although a tad expensive, parking £15.00 per night based on a first come first serve basis, but once parked up no need to use the car again as the bus stop is on the main road past the hotel, city is 0.7 miles from the hotel, easy walk down cardio workout to get back, we would definitely stay there again.

Extremely hot room, no air conditioning and window wouldnt open.Fans were provided but it just circulated warm air.
When I asked if there was another room, they offered a room exactly the same, ie no air conditioning, window not opening, when I declined they asked if we wanted to check out.
Poor customer service and avoid in this hot weather absolutely stifling.

Have stayed here before. Great to have accessible parking near the hotel on arrival. Staff really attentive and helpful at all times. Delicious breakfast with lots of choices. Handy bus stop into the centre of town so taxis not needed. Always an enjoyable stay.

We stayed for a couple of nights staff were all really helpful and very pleasant. The place was clean and tidy all the time I did sadly find the bed very hard and floor squeaky to every step you made. I would still recommend as is brilliant location if you don’t want to be rushed get in the centre and bus stop is just steps away from the hotel.

wir waren nur 1 Nacht dort, Es ist ein klassisches Hotel im altenglischen Stil, Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß und stilgerecht ausgestattet. Das Frühstück -ebenfalls sehr british- war gut und reichlich. Parken kann man für 15 Pounds pro Nacht am Hotel, aber der Parkplatz ist früh voll. In 15min ist man zu Fuß in der wunderschönen Altstadt.
