Location and historical aspect were wonderful. Service at breakfast was great! Room was a bit small, including the low ceiling over the bed and the tiny shower. Also, no soap in the bathroom sink.

Lovely 3 night stay at Sawmills when at a wedding down the hill. Clean lovely room, small but very useable bathroom with everything you need. Great breakfast included, nice bar friendly staff. Easy parking. Highly recommend.

The room was a good size and modern. I've stayed here before but in a different room. This room was quite noisy at night from a motor running in a building outside my window. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels. I did find it a bit strange that the room wasn't serviced daily even though it says so on the website. But I asked for clean cups and they were brought up to me. The cooked breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. But there is no option other than a cooked breakfast. So no cereals, fruit etc. And no marmalade for toast. The service provided by the staff in the bar and dining room is first class. I remembered Sue from last year. She's such a friendly lady and clearly understands what customer service is all about!! I don't know the names of the rest of the staff but they are a credit to the pub!

Great quality rooms over a really lovely pub - I recently stayed 2 nights at the Sawmill’s as part of a group booking of all 4 rooms as we were attending a local wedding. Quality of the rooms is fantastic, especially the larger room 1. Great showers, clean nice facilities, fresh & well decorated rooms. Breakfast was also included which was really good food and made the overall cost of stay really reasonable. Would definitely stay again.

No stocking up of tea, milk, toilet oaper. Had to keep asking or buying own. Windows old and difficult to open and close Noise from staff and car park about 7.30 am was disturbing

We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding nearby. I usually expect pub rooms to be a bit hodge podge, but the sawmills were very hotel-esque. Done to a very nice finish. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was amazing, full gastro pub with well thought flavours and good quality ingredients

Well located for South West Coastal path and Tarka Trail. Comfy bed and good breakfast. The room was too warm but as it was over the kitchen we couldn't open the windows due to the smell from kitchen extractor fan. Mixed staff. The waitress was lovely but low level of commitment to customer satisfaction from the manager.

Nice and cosy stay with good food in the restaurant and friendly staff. The rooms were clean, well appointed and had comfy beds for a good night sleep. What more would you need?

The cooked breakfast was amazing however some cereals would have been nice as a cooked breakfast might not be wanted everyday.

Great location for us visiting family - setting is excellent and outside area with water, lots of baskets of flowers is very enticing. Decor in the Inn and the rooms is exceptional. This might be picky but a soap dispenser over the hand basin would be useful. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made the stay memorable.

It was a very friendly atmosphere & very welcoming

We stayed for 2 nights and everything was as advertised. There was parking available. It was nice having the bar and restaurant below the rooms. Check-in was easy too.

Likes The staff were lovely. They were very accommodating and provided all the requests made. The breakfast was very tasty, and my partner was recommending it to our friends (which is a big thing). The room size was good. It's spacious (however, the shower room was a little snug). The room looked exactly like the photos, so that is a plus. We had dinner at the pub with our friends, everyone enjoyed their meal and I really liked the live band. We were singing the songs. Not so great There was no air conditioning (we stayed during a heatwave), which was very concerning for me. I would like to add that the staff provided me a fan, which I really appreciated The room was tidy. But I am a neat feak, so seeing spiderwebs wasn't ideal. Overall, I would recommend the place. I really liked the water feature near the car park.
