compared to other amritsar hotels its great. however compared to other Taj properties its not to the level of "TAJ" name

I really enjoy my stay at Taj

We stay at Taj Swarna, Amritsar once or twice every year, and it truly feels like coming home each time. The warmth and care shown by the team are exceptional. Chef Ajay makes special food for us every year, remembering exactly how we like it and giving such personal attention—it means more than words can say. He remembers all our family. It was very nice to meet chef Rachpal. Mukesh is always kind, attentive, and welcoming, making every stay even more special. This level of genuine care is why we keep coming back. A truly wonderful hotel.

Staff service

Room was good. We were disappointed that the full board plan only included 1 restaurant.

It's a decent hotel. Definitely not reflective of the Taj brand. It's more of a commuter 3-4 star hotel. Service was good. Our driver Gursevak was exceptional, he went above and beyond to help us out.

Really nice room up on L6. Very clean hotel. Staff very courteous, polite, and genuinely helpful. Buffet brekky and dinner were pretty good, lots of variety, and decent selection of dessert. Highly recommended, we’ll be coming here again when visiting Harimandar Sahab.

Hotel was perfect in every way except that the lobby was so cold! The bar was also very cold. The breakfast restaurant was heated nicely, but the main area was uncomfortably cold.

Poor management, the hotel was not very organized. I called the front multiple times for help with my luggage but no one answered. I also had to take my luggage to my room myself. It was nice they placed a footbath for me but that was about it. The security team outside is very nice

Good stay, but front-desk issues created an unnecessary expense Our stay at Taj Swarna was ultimately good, but only because we made the best of it—unfortunately the front-desk experience fell far below expectations for a Taj property. We had booked a room advertised as suitable for 3 adults and 1 child. At check-in, we found only two twin beds, clearly not enough for four people. I asked the front desk whether an additional cot would be provided, since this is standard for such room types. I was confidently told there would be no extra bed and that the only option was to book another room. Based on this information, I paid for an additional room. To my surprise, later that night the staff added an extra cot to the original room anyway—exactly what I had asked about earlier. When I raised my concerns, the situation became even more disappointing. During the internal inquiry, the front-desk representative claimed she had informed me about the additional bed, which was simply untrue. There was no misunderstanding—just a clear lack of honesty and accountability, which felt disrespectful and unprofessional. We still enjoyed our stay because we chose to move past the incident, but this experience negatively impacted what could have been a flawless visit. I hope management addresses these service gaps, as guests should not have to bear unnecessary costs or deal with inaccurate information at a hotel of this calibre.
