We enjoyed our stay at Colmena, it was beautiful, simple and location was amazing. My favorite part was the breakfast, authentic homestyle breakfast! Reyna and the rest of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The only con, though not a dealbreaker, was no AC in the rooms, we did have a fan in our room however México City weather is pretty hot and humid so an AC would be nice. Other than that we loved our stay.

El personal muy amable, la habitación amplia, comodísima (la cama es deliciosa) y muy limpia diariamente. El desayuno variado, completo y muy rico. Agua caliente y ventilador excelente. Además esta centrico, rodeado de muchos museos y actividades

Habitaciones muy lindas y limpias. Desayuno bueno, la única queja es que se acaba si se llega un poco tarde. Lavandería bien, sería bueno que cambien los paños todos los días. Muy bueno en general

Muuuy comoda y calida, la localización es muy buena para estar centrica, los cuartos espaciosos y excelente cafe como el desayuno!

El lugar es bonito, cómodo y el staff es muy amable. Muy buena ubicación a sólo 5 minutos de la Catedral. Poder desayunar ahí y estar listos para empezar el día, es lo mejor. Tener café y té disponible las 24 horas es un mega plus para mí. Definitivamente, lo recomiendo.

El personal muy atento, a pesar de que aún no era hora del check in pude dejar mis maletas para ir a conocer la ciudad.

Lovely hotel. Located in the heart of the historic district. 5 min walk from Zócalo. Loved my time there.

Hotel Colmena is an unpretentious option, well-located and with great service. Overall, the experience was a positive one, made especially memorable by the attentiveness of the staff (shoutout to señora Reyna!) and the common areas. The room itself is basic: a full-size double bed, a desk, a mirror, a wardrobe rail, and a mini fridge. The bathroom is in good condition and has a spacious shower. That said, the bathroom is separated from the room by a sliding door with an open ceiling above it, so sound travels freely. For us as a couple, this wasn’t an issue, but it could feel awkward if you’re sharing a room with friends. Breakfast is included in the stay. It’s quite good, though it doesn’t change much from day to day. That said, there are enough ingredients available that you can mix and match to make each morning feel a little different. Housekeeping was good, the room was always kept clean. Towel changes did need to be requested, though. The hotel also offers a laundry service, which felt a bit pricey to me, but I suppose you’re paying for the convenience. The hotel has a lovely little courtyard, perfect for having breakfast. One thing worth noting: the beds may feel cramped for taller or larger guests, as there’s not a lot of room to stretch out. Offering a few rooms with queen-size beds would be a welcome upgrade. All in all, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for something simple, functional, and well-located with friendly staff.

The breakfast was plentiful and with many healthy options. It included lots of vegetables, scrambled eggs, a meat option (different each day) rice, refried beans, yogurt and fresh fruit. The fruit changed each day but was mostly mango, pineapple or watermelon. The coffee was fresh made and there was hot and cold water and teabags available at all hours. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the staff left little heart or swan sculptures made out of towels (in the room after cleaning) to show they care.

This is the perfect place to stay, close to zocalo, in front a museum which is amazing, close to local vendors and delicious/cheap food. I am already planning my next stay in this hotel.

Everything was excellent during our stay, the staff was very friendly at all times, and the daily breakfast was a big plus! Good location around the Zocalo, making it easy to navigate through all of Mexico City! Only area for improvement I saw was the bed, but did the work for what is needed. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Mexico City.
