No lift, lukewarm water, dining room cold, building shabby

The website was very misleading to start with. If you need to be charged for dogs this should be done at the time of booking and money collected along with the room charge. Then to be told that there was a charge for parking, which is not advised on your website. The whole place looked very tired and smelling musty. Whilst I asked for a ground floor room I didn’t expect to open my window to the bin area. Mislead on arrival about the food menu although to be fair the food served was good. Couldn’t bring myself to have a shower when I seen the state of the drain (I have photos of this ).certainly wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone.

Very friendly staff, great location and breakfast.

Although hotel is a little tired in decor, it was perfect for our stay. We had a large, warm, sea view room which was great to watch ferries in and out. Great breakfast, hot and a good variety. Nice lounge to sit in evening overlooking port. Staff friendly. For us - a great stay and would return again.

Was very disappointed, the photographs are deceiving. The hotel was grubby and in poor condition, threadbare carpets, water stains on ceilings, grubby carpet in bedroom, mould on windows, toilet bowl moved upon seating, lift was dirty with splash marks on doors. Only positive comment I could make is that the staff were friendly enough and breakfast was okay.

Room and staff were fine. No issues at all.

Room was bad. Plumbing issues. Hot water was a trickle. Fire alarms going off on multiple nights with no direction from staff. No clean towels available. Breakfast was poorly cooked. Hotel in general in great need of repair.

I booked for 2 days and only stayed for one. The room had a dirty toilet, cobwebs on ceiling, no heating and I just could not stay any longer in it. I emailed them and said the room would need to be cleaned before letting it out again. Needs a full refurb.

We didn’t last 10 minutes in the room we were given , it was absolutely terrible, couldn’t shut window so it was cold damp wallpaper was coming of walls , bed was tidy it would of be luck if we both fitted in it , bathroom was very small , very dated indeed , we were both shocked , we came out and paint and wallpaper coming off walls coming down main stairs , spoke to guy at desk saying we can’t stay in a room like that and he wasn’t bothered one bit , and just said hum, I wouldn’t recommend anybody staying there it’s absolutely disgusting, we had to travel up to fort William to find another room , really should be getting a full refund, not happy at all with this hotel .

The breakfast was lovely . The didn’t have Scottish blended whisky only Irish twice we went in there was no bar person on

Great sized room with wonderful view. The staff were excellent. We had a slight problem with the bathroom facilities, however this was rectified with no inconvenience immediately xx

We liked the separate sleeping areas. Bathroom was very big. We struggled a bit with the shower but we figured it out.

Reception staff had poor communication skills. English wasn’t their first language. No parking available despite there being empty parking spaces. We arrived at 4pm. Heard raised voices from other disgruntled customers

Entrance door out of order, dingy reception once we figured out how to gain access! Staff were forlorn and disengaged. Felt like a scene from a weird horror movie. Creaky stairs, out of order lift, dingy corridor led us to a sad, little room. Unloved with shabby decor, so tired and felt like an abandoned refuge shelter. Hot water was cold, a touch of mould on the bathroom tiles and toilet paper was on the opposite wall from the toilet. We stayed away from the hotel as much as possible during our three day stay in Oban. Every moment we spent in there sucked a bit more joy from our souls. If you want to feel like you live in a refuge centre book this hotel. No joy or happiness lives here. If I had paid £20 a night I would have been disappointed.......but £80 a night!!!! Worst value for money I have ever encountered.

First room 311, was extremely noisy due to loose tiles or boards on the outside of the window. In addition, the shower head was flat on the floor as the water was gushing out. The room was not prewarmed and welcoming. After notifying reception we were told nothing else was available. After about 2 hours the receptionist came to our room to tell us he could offer an upgrade. The second room 129, was larger and better but the heating didnt work. We were given an oil filled radiator. Both rooms were not in good repair, particularly the bathrooms. The receptionist was friendly and did his best. We had breakfast both mornings and this was excellent and plentiful.
