Khao Lak Tour with Bamboo Rafting and Elephant Trekking

Get to visit a pineapple farm, a cave temple, and a tsunami museum on this tour in Khao Lak, a tourist-oriented village series in Phang Nga’s Thai Mueang District.

The first stop of this tour is a nearby pineapple farm where guests can see farmers tend to their produce. Pineapple farming is one of the main industries in Thailand, originating in the early 70s. To this day, the country remains to be one of the main producers of pineapple in Asia.

Monkey Cave Temple is the tour’s next stop. Locally known as Wat Suwan Khuha, the temple got its name from its rather sizable number of monkeys inside. Though friendly, guests are still encouraged to take care of their belongings when the monkeys are around as they have the tendency to snatch food from tourists’ hands, Inside the cave temple, guests can also see the famous reclining Buddha along with other Buddha images of different sizes.

The group will then proceed to an elephant camp where they will ride on the back of an elephant to explore more of the area. Shortly thereafter, the group will visit the International Tsunami Museum, a small museum right in the heart of Khao Lak. It was in the 26th of December 2004 when a tsunami hit Thailand, an event that left more than 8,400 people injured and 5,200 killed. The museum is built in commemoration of their lives. It has inside a photo exhibit, along with a police boat washed onto the main land.

After lunch, guests will visit a turtle conservation centre where they can see at least four species of turtles. A waterfall trip is up next where guests can try bamboo rafting along the river of Khao Lak. Finally, visit a fruit shop to purchase some freshly-picked produce before heading back to Bangkok.
