Sandals Grande Antigua - ALL INCLUSIVE Couples Only

First time staying at a Sandals resort. We stayed at Club level so we had a concierge. Helped A LOT. It was a nice resort however badly in need of renovations. Be prepared to walk. No golf carts driving you around. There was a mix of ages but when we went a lot of seniors. Prefer that to drunk college kids. The wi-fi was absolutely the worst I’ve ever encountered, barely worked. Now for the pros. The staff was all so kind and attentive. Really made sure you were happy. They have a nice courtyard type vibe. The main pool is big and most lively. There are other pools that are quiet. Pool and hot tubs are open 24/7 so that was a big plus. Food was good. I’ve seen bad reviews but I don’t know why. Better food than any other resorts I’ve been to. The dining I loved. It wasn’t packed and crazy EVER. Most restaurants you don’t need dinner reservations. You don’t need towel card. Take as you need. They don’t have a lot of beach chairs and butlers save seats for their guests which was annoying because it never seemed like the people used them. Beach was beautiful though. Water was nice. No seaweed. There are people that sell souvenirs on the beach but wasn’t too annoying. There is night entertainment as well. Bring bug spray mosquitoes at night will eat you alive. If you’re looking to relax this was perfect. Other than WiFi and the needed updates it was really nice. I would go again.

st staff. Food was meh. Property stunningly gorgeous. Room … got eaten by mosquitoes in room every night. Jacuzzi tub didn’t work in room. Staff came and never did work. Rest of room very nice. Humidity on island will make it tough to dry wet clothes. Overall good time. Big pool on Mediterranean side is fabulous.

Vacation with three couples was wonderful. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. Our room was in the older section and could use a refresh but you don’t spend a lot of time in there. It was great and I would definitely recommend it.

Il sandals è nell'insieme una bella struttura sebbene la parte caraibica sia la piu antica e forse piu lussuosa mentre quella mediterranea piu moderna. Consiglio di prenotare i ristoranti il giorno dall'arrivo altrimenti non si trova posto. La spiaggia è un po deludente, il mare sempre mosso e poco trasparente. Inoltre la mattina presto parte la caccia ai lettini.....

Antigua is undoubtedly a beautiful destination, but unfortunately, our experience at Sandals fell far short of expectations. Despite being marketed as a 5-star resort, it felt more like a 3-star experience from start to finish. The check-in process set the tone for our stay, and it was chaotic. Initially, we were given a room in a category we didn’t book. After raising the issue, we were moved to the correct category, but the room was extremely noisy, situated behind a restaurant. Only after two days of complaints were we moved to a quieter room with a sea view, which they claimed was an “upgrade.” However, this wasn’t an upgrade we requested; we simply wanted a quiet room in the category we had already paid for at $750 per night. Dining was another disappointment. On our first night at the Bayside restaurant, we waited 45 minutes to be seated and an additional 1 hour and 45 minutes for our main courses. Despite addressing our concerns with the Food & Beverage Manager and the General Manager, we never received an apology or any effort to rectify the situation. The food quality overall was incredibly poor, especially when compared to the amazing local cuisine we enjoyed at Antigua’s restaurants and even ingredients from local supermarkets. Sandals’ food was the worst we encountered during our trip, and on our final evening, we opted to dine outside the resort.

Very nice property, upkeep very nice. It looked beautiful. I didn’t particularly like the bed. It was very comfortable but height was too high.

Didn’t get to property to even fully experience it. Was given sick note by gp not to fly so tried to reschedule trip 1 week before I was booked. The hotel didn’t even get back to me or my agents despite numerous attempts to call or email. Booked top room for this trip. Would expect a more professional response than was afforded by this hotel group. Very disappointed.

Beautiful beach and pool areas

Would have enjoyed a regular swimming pool and not all "bar" pools. Enjoyed the various restaurants. The rooms need updating but were clean. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. They were great. Maybe more activities besides pool volleyball and trivia.

This was my first time staying at a Sandals resort. Overall, the resort was great including good location (15 mins from airport), great restaurants/food, very friendly staff and our butlers (Chavon, Geoffrey and Marylyne) were AMAZING!! There was entertainment throughout the day and live music in the evening. The piano bar had a nice vibe as well. The rooms are a little dated and need renovation (i.e., painting, wood repair and bathroom shelves were broken and a leaky sink). The rooms should be updated to more modern decor especially for the price. However, the room was clean and the resort grounds were well maintained. There was an issue with the room I booked, which was supposed to be ocean view versus the room we were in, which was tropical garden view, however this is an issue with Expedia as they falsely advertised the room. I'll definitely visit other Sandals resorts in the future.

Excellent resort. Clean, many dining options, rooms and views are top notch. Helpful staff. Highly recommend.
