Equinox Resort

The staff were pleasant, and while the rooms felt a bit dated—expected since the resort was built in the late seventies (i think) —we were okay with that. However, there’s no excuse for the apartment’s cleanliness. The floors were dirty, and the cutlery was not clean. The breadboard was in such poor condition that we covered it just to chop some watermelon. On a positive note, the location was great, with an easy walk or ride to the main strip of Surfers Paradise.

Resort was a little dated, could have done with a little TLC in parts.

On Arrival the elderly bloke was nice but very little information was given and just asked for a signature, then just told me my room was on level 7. I had to find the Carpark myself and was unsure where to park as there are garages and no parking signs all throughout, things placed in carparks to try and save them etc. We then get to our room that has been updated but the furniture was not and broken, eg: legs broken and not fixed. Then had cockroaches running about everywhere also throughout the hotel and in the rooms. 1 Laundry sachet was given for our 12 night stay to wash our clothes and towels because towels were not to be replaced until 6 nights into our stay, we had to wash them ourselves. These towels were also our towels provided for the pool. I find this really unsanitary due to the pool having chlorine and then wanting us to use the same towel after a shower. I did ask reception for new towels and was told NO we were provided towels these are now our responsibility until they are replaced after the 6th night when our room got serviced. This brings me to toilet paper. Our roll of toilet paper was only a half roll on arrival and was told they are $1 each at our expense if we wanted a new one. My Partner and I were relaxing in the pool and spa and as couples do we’re having a cuddle. The Elderly bloke comes out and accuses us of having relations in the spa. We felt very watched and violated of privacy as adults. Continued on Google reviews. Very poor quality Resort

The location was good, the staff were nice and helpful, granted. BUT The pictures on the web were wholly inaccurate and highly doctored. The adjoining rooms were straight out of a bad 1980s movie. The carpet, kitchen, bathrooms, and furniture have not been changed since it was originally built in the 80s. To say it was dated is a huge understatement. The cleanliness was questionable. There was dirty underwear stashed in the room divider, and the amenities were old and rickety. Noise carried from the hallways, and the pipes of the building made noises that kept my children up. Unequivocably, the worst place I have ever stayed at, and I have travelled many cities and countries. The room rate they are charging for is ridiculous for the quality you are definitely NOT going to get. Would not recommend at all.

The place is old, which is okay, but the poor maintenance is the issue. There is mould in the shower and sink. The exhaust fan is full of dust, there are weeds in the gutters that have grown to over 40cm tall, broken tiles on the balcony, missing tiles in the pool, broken sunbeds on the rooftop sun deck (we even told Ray the manager on day 1 about the sun beds but they were still there day 7). We saw a guy trying to break into the cash box of a vending machiene and another time had a naked man passed out in the hallway right at our door. The Police and Ambulance had to come as he woke up and become very violent. Do not stay here!!! The managers are too old to keep up with simple tasks such as basic maintenance. The place is run down, dirty, and unsafe.

My experience has been terrible and disgusted throught the stay. The room smelled oily. The carper was greasy. There cockroaches from everywhere. I had terrible sleep due this. This is a very wrong representation of the property. The photo showed in the advertisement is so clean and nice where as the room was quite the opposite of it. When I complained of cockroachea to receptionist she told we do it evey 3 months and there is nothing they can do right now. I had sleepless nights because of the fear of cockroaches and the smell in the lobby and the room. ChatGPT said: Certainly. Very good ocean view unit. The bed was a problem though, with wooden corners sticking out.

It was very clean...The mat in the lounge room was dirty. There was rust all around the bath and window in the bathroom also the surface in the bath was worn away. We were NOT told there was a step from the loungeroom to the outside veranda and I fell over, fortunately I didnt hurt myself. Not enough toilet paper??? Would we stay there again. NO.

Sehr schön gelegene Unterkunft. Hatte Blick auf das Meer, 14. Etage, wunderschön. Apartment war sehr zweckmäßig und vollkommen in Ordnung. Nur ein Lift, von 2, war die ganze Zeit kaputt. Bei so einem Hochhaus fatal. Schade

Unfortunately we were there during cyclone alfred so we saw it at its worst. Our unit had a beautiful view that was wonderful, however it leaked & there were broken latches on the window with the wind sounded like a freight train in your room. We left early. With beautiful weather it would have been different.

Overall ok. Facilities need some upgrading and refresh for better comfort and ambience.

Staff were friendly and property clean

This Apartment complex is in my opinion the best value on the GoldCoast. I rented it for my parents who were attending a golf championship. And would definitely recommend it to those who would loke a bit bigger soace than a hotel room offers. The ability to cook and have a lounge area to chill in.. Plenty of parking and great views

There is an underground parking, the staff were lovely and helpful. We enjoyed the stay. The place looks dated bur has everything that’s needed.
