We had a lovely stay at sea star apts. The 2 bedroom apt was huge, bed very comfy and a short 10 min walk to shops/restaurants. A steep walk up the hill back to the apts but worth it for the fantastic views

I would rate this place higher if I could. AMAZING! Each apartment has a stunning view over the bay. Nicely laid out and spacious apartments for a very comfortable stay. Best place we've stayed in Australia so far.

The room was nice, well furnished. The view was beautiful, and had a nice outdoor table to relax at.
There was confusion upon booking, as I booked for 2 adults and a 12yo child, but the room came as one bedroom, so only 1 bed. Our 12yo daughter slept on the lounge, but I feel this is a booking agency trick, not the complex fault.
Overall we had a very enjoyable experience.

Manager allowed me to pay $ 1 thousand dollars and gave me keys to unit knowing airconditionig didn't work.
Smoke/ Fire alarms didn't work.
Intercom between unit and main door didn't work.

Lots of space in apartment.
Needs updating in some areas. Oven is not easy to use.
Hot tub was a nice extra but the door was very stiff and everything looked worn out.
Didn’t smell that clean when we went in.
Staff were friendly and when there was anissue with the toilet cistern they sent a plummer the next day.
Advertised with use of pool and bbq but when we got there they were doing maintenance so we couldn’t use either.
Views were amazing as very high up but a long walk up and down hill.

The apartment itself was outstanding: far better than pictures online! The views and balcony were tremendous, and the facilities were brilliant. We had plenty of room, and were very comfortable.
Downsides were two main factors: the WiFi was extremely weak, which was frustrating as we had hoped to put Netflix on to drown out the noise of the karaoke bar nearby, which was quite loud. Also worth noting that the hill to climb back up to the property is brutal! Not for older or young kids...we struggled, and we're in our 30s!
Despite the above I would stay here again for it's location, amenities, and price. The woman on check out (possibly the owner?) was really lovely and helpful, too.

Great location not far from the town centre although it's a steep uphill hike if you have physical challenges that prevent you from walking uphill/downhill.
The view from Sea Star is amazing, especially from the penthouse which has sweeping views of the bay.
Would highly recommend the penthouse and Sea Star apartments in general.

Leslie and Steve were perfect hosts, available yet non-invasive. Apartment was huge and clean with great aircon and fans if required. Walking distance to Main St and the lagoon but it's a feisty climb back up the hill. Some lighting along the very steep driveway would be good for pedestrians and drivers alike, who must share the private road. Would return and recommend to others.

Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays is a great destination. Sea Star apartments have fantastic views. But the property itself is pretty basic and the interiors are quite dated. While it is listed (e.g. on Google Maps) as a 4 star hotel, it is in fact a set of apartments with few of the amenities that one would expect in a hotel.
If you have a car and are used to self catering, it’s fine. But without a car, you have to rely on taxis from the center of town. Walking down the steep hill is no problem, but walking up is tough; you will be breathing hard and drenched with sweat. And note, if you have any mobility issues, you absolutely cannot stay there.
I gave 4 stars because the views are fantastic, the apartment was clean and well kept, we are fit and don’t mind walking up hills, and we didn’t expect a fancy hotel. But do be prepared if you select this property.

The room was huge, with a great balcony with great view
The only complaint was bed mattress seemed to slope and no dishcloth to wipe benches. Toiletries supplied was one tube shampoo and one tube bodywash for 2 ppl, staff very friendly

The view was lovely . Our accommodation was spotless and had everything we needed . Staff were very helpful. I would definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a comfortable , reasonably priced stay . It is an easy walk to shops and restaurants but an uphill climb on the way back !
