The breakfast could be value for money but it wasn’t great - the hot breakfast was cold and barista made coffee was extra on top of the $39 pp price.

Beautiful old style, very comfortable and lovely foyer/breakfast buffet, absolutely great staff. I was disheartened by the low standard of coffee in the room, sadly no Nespresso machine or decent instant. Also the noise of the road below is incessant. That said, great comfortable beds, amazing spacious room and good bathroom. I even had a sweet swim in the pool!

Most hotel rooms in Sydney’s CBD are soulless and have no character. This whole place has such a lovely warm and homey character. It’s got a fireplace in the lobby, there’s chandeliers everywhere. There’s lounges in the lobby and bedroom. The room was huge. It’s really lovely.

Staff were efficient and friendly. Hotel is in a great location for easy access to the Rocks and Quay areas of Sydney, Hotel is located close to the light rail, heavy rail, and Sydney ferries for easy access to other areas of the city.

The Sir Stamford is such a beautiful old hotel. We were on the 10th floor. The location is great for walking around Circular Quay. The view from our room was spectacular.

Second stay and even better than the first. On checkin no demands to produce a physical C/Card, which other hotels still insist on even if prepaid. A pet hate for those of us that travel on a digital wallet. Great to see this hotel has joined the 21st century (unlike many others). Extra star for that!
Older style room but modern where it counts. Bed, shower/bathroom, wifi tv, aircon all good.
Fabulous location between Circular Quay and Martin place. 10min walk to the opera house.
Easy access to metro and trains.
Busy weekend due to Vivid but appreciated they had my room ready a bit early.
In all I couldn’t fault it.

It is a great location right near Circular Quay.
However it is really looking tired. Our room had a nice view towards the Quay and was spacious but that’s where it ends.
The room was crying out for a deep clean, the skirting boards were dirty, both lampshades next to the bed were in terrible condition, one with a big stain the other one was fabric hanging from it where the seam was broken.
The timber table had dust on its crossed timbers, I’m sure there was mould on the timber as well, they so need tlc on all the woodwork in the room.
There is no mini bar in the room.
The lighting in the room is very poor.
There was no one to help us with our bags when we arrived via cab in the rain.
Didn’t see anyone on the concierge desk whenever we passed.
Did have room service once and it was very efficient.

We chose this hotel because we had stayed there before many years ago. I should have read the recent reviews before I booked. It once was a grand hotel but now it's just old and tired. Wallpaper peeling off walls. Our room was ok but the pillows were flat and the mattress was lumpy. The final straw was red lipstick on my bath towel and I don't wear that colour. I wouldn't recommend or ever stay there again.

The Sir Stamford Hotel is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The location was very convenient for our purposes. The room was huge, quiet and comfortable and very good value for money. The service of staff was exceptional. We had arrived early so we left our bags and wondered around the city. I received a text when our room was ready and our bag had been taken up to our room before we went back to the hotel to check in. A really beautiful old world hotel. Loved our stay and we will definitely be back. I highly recommend this hotel.
