Surfers Tropique

Upon checkin, property was significantly dusty, in particular living room. Ensuite bathroom looked as if it had not been cleaned recently - there was pubic hair and other dirt on the floor. Apartment advertises as “fully equipped kitchen”, but had no tea towels or any washing up paraphernalia. Given the volume of holiday apartments on the Gold Coast, would recommend staying elsewhere.

Great location to the beach and surrounding areas. Pool lovely. Apartment size generous just furniture and decor inside it dated and in need of a good clean. Apartment did have air conditioning which was great.

No hot water. Toilet blocked. Bathroom had to be cleaned before we could use it.

Excellent apartment. View was not as described, but was wonderfully appointed and very clean. Comfy beds!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and nothing was too much trouble for our host, Bob. The resort was perfect for us with two small children and the pool was heated. It's probably due for a refresh but was just right for our needs and very close to the beach and Florida Gardens tram station.

As a last minute idea for my sons 4th birthday I decided to book at tropique as it was one of the few hotels left for the night under $300. We arrived for check in and no one was at the hotel even though checkin started after 2pm and it was only 3pm. We had to ring a number on from the reception desk and speak to a girl who didn't even work there, who rang th owner who was in Burleigh. We got told he would be over straight away so we drove around for 20 mins and came back. Still wasn't there so we rang the lady back and she gave the owner our contact details. Bearing in mind we had a 12 week old baby and a four year old with us who had been in the car for nearly 2 hours already and it was a hot day we were not happy. By the time we were seen, it was nearly an hour since we had arrived. No apologies, no offers to make it up to us or nothing. So we let it go and go up to our room. It was pretty horrendous. The kitchen looked u clean, the paint on the walls were peeling, the stainless steel fridge looked like it was peeling, there was a smell in the main bedroom and it was just generally unclean and run down. Considering the wait at check in and the fact we paid $290 to stay for the night we were not happy, but had to make the most of it for our little one. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here. The only good thing about it is that it's relatively close to surfers and there's a lovely beach just at the end of the road.

Needed a place for an overnight stay and the surfers Tropique was a good value, great location option. The room was great and had everything we needed. The pool was an obvious hit with the kids!

Nice and enjoyable place to stay. Only negative point would be the comfort of the beds. Ended up having to sleep on the lounge. Fans were very noisy as well.

Enjoyed the location; easy access to local restaurants, the beach, and the G:Link tram. But the rooms could use a simple refresh and the cleaning was a little lacklustre.

great location- quick walk to the lawn bowls club (reason for trip). The beach is only 1 block away. Unit was clean and had everything we needed. Having our own kitchen was a HUGE plus for meals since restaurant food is pricey in the area. All units overlook a lovely courtyard with pool. Only downside is lack of an elevator so luggage had to be dragged up several flights of stairs but that would definitely NOT deter me from staying here again. Young lady at the reception desk was wonderful at check-in- very pleasant and very welcoming. The price was definitely another plus- fantastic price for a 2-bedroom unit in this area

Nice tropical setting. Could be cleaner and more beautiful. Bbq was dirty so they cleaned it for us. Paid $25 for WIFI. Very poor reception. Had to send my son to get $30 credit elsewhere. Otherwise, nice location still.

For the overnight rate it was poor value. Room very dated. No niceties Foxtel didn't work properly, place smelt musty. No sound dampening for road noise or other apartments. Would not stay here again

The experience is bad , no aircon or fans in the guest room , no control for the fans in the living room, we have to sleep in the living room instead in the guest room , the room is lousy , even the painting on the wall also going to collapse and we have to bring all our five lunggaes climb to 2nd floor , haiz !!! actually we want to cancel it but it is too late to cancel otherwise we might rather stays at my uncle house squeeze better than stay in this type of room booked , very very disappointed.

Hotel was in good location. Room was tired needed some TLC. Size of unit was great and self contained which saves a few dollars. Close to transport.

Perfect for mates weekend away.

Staff were so accommodating in getting us into our room early. I really appreciate their help and assistance as you made our stylist much less stressful.
