The Dunkirk Hotel

The hotel was great, room was nice. Breakfast served everyday. The only thing that the door doesn't has internal lock. At once, the worker knocked the door only once and open the door. We felt shocked and hope it won't happened again. Otherwise, everything was fine.

We were lucky to pull up on trivia night and were welcomed in and had a wonderful night

Large room, comfortable beds. Traffic was a bit noisey but okay.

As a solo traveller I spent just over a week at the Dunkirk in Pyrmont- everything was seemless and there was no issues - I ate in the pub a couple of times and the food was very high quality, quick and delicious - I was a little unsure about sharing a bathroom as I made my booking late and this option was not available however there really was no problems at all - everywhere was very clean. My room was huge and the bed was massive - extremely comfy for me and my pillows were Devine (I’m very fussy about pillows) all the staff was super friendly and the hotel was able to hold my bags in a secure place for the day as I had a night time flight - bus stop outside across the road into town and bondi junction was really super convenient - I would stay again and highly recommend - all the best to everyone at the Dunkirk that made my week is Sydney a very memorable one

Average, for the price convenient & walkable. Broken furniture & fan, door tends to get stuck! Needs refurbishing. Old building hence room is smelly.

I didn't like being on the second floor as my partner has a bad hip that needs surgery and I have two knee replacements that still give me pain and are weak! I would be good if when you make the booking to be asked if you have any special needs? we are both aver 70 and the stairs were a killer! My partner is a heavy smoker and therefore had to take the stairs to go down to the smoking area! The smoking area WAS ETREMELY NOISY DUE TO THE POKER MACHINE THAT YELLING OUT EVERY TIME THE PLAYER WON A PRIZE! It needs to moved further into the gaming area! Had I known that I could have paid a higher fee and had a room with an en-suite I would have done so as I have done for my next stay with you in July!

A great Aussie pub stay with friendly staff. Value for money & safe for three women for a night. Bring your ear plugs for some street noise and make sure you enjoy a meal and drink.

Shared bathrooms were clean. Staff doubled as bartender and servers at the pub. Heated carafe was junked up with previous occupants residual Raman. Yuck. LOUD on some nights. Lots of traffic noise including emergency vehicles. Ceiling fan adequate to keep cool in March, but needed to keep windows open too, so….LOUD.

I had a great stay with a lovely room with a private bathroom and kitchenette. I was very surprised how spacious the room was with a fan and aircon . I liked the location close to the light rail and easy walk to the city centre. The only down side to the property is you have to climb stairs to get to your room, wifi was not very good and only a couple of TV channels were available on the TV. I would highly recommend for a budget stay in Sydney or an overnight stay.

Location whilst noisy was convenient. Property dilapidated and a coat of superficial paint would take the eye from the scratched doors and surrounds. Carpets on stairs dirty and not welcoming. Bedding and towels clean and good quality, comfy beds, no air-conditioning and fan without the light a challenge. Overall OK but a few $'s could make a big difference to returning again. I have been an Exec. Housekeeper, my eye is keen.

If you enjoy folk singing Karaoke this is your place on a Tuesday. Great to hear folk letting go and enjoying themselves. (Otherwise bring ear plugs). Thanks DK!

Great little hotel located in the heart of the city. Friendly staff.

Staff were so nice and food in the pub is delicious! Very close to multiple bus stops and a nice quick walk over to darling harbor. Very close to ICC theatre so if you're attending an event there this is a great option.

Great concept for a boutique hotel in a restored older building. Staff were friendly, polite and responsive. Noise level was loud from the street and even louder from the live music from the main floor bar. But we were expecting this due to previous reviews and all had our own noise cancelling earbuds. Beds were comfortable. The cleanliness however was not up to standard with dirty walls and ceiling and dishes in the cupboard. Because we were in the family room we had a private vs shared bathroom which was good, but the one side of the flush mechanism on the top of the toilet had broken off and the other side didn’t work on the side that was broken off in its place were 2 bamboo sticks. So every time someone went to the bathroom you had to grab hold of these 2 sticks and push them down in just the right place in order to flush the toilet. This was extremely un-hygienic and quite literally disgusting. I think the staff should have informed us of this earlier in the day as we had had communication with them. We were exhausted after a long day of travelling and didn’t arrive until almost midnight. The front desk had shut down by the time we saw the issue. We could have booked a different room or a different hotel had we been given the option, but we were not. For this, and the dirty dishes that had been put away in the cupboard I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
