Cozy Corner Motel & Restaurant

It was shabby. Needed railing by steps. Restaurant was NOT very good.

The carpet in our room was wet, my husband socks were soaked. The TV didn’t work. The internet didn’t work. The I assume owner did try to fix the TV but it just didn’t work. He did provide us with alternative option to use the internet. The rooms are pretty dim. Pillows are flat however I slept well considering. Staff was very kind.

Staff was very accommodating. We called at 1:30 in the morning and the man let us in. Recommend making reservation in advance due to limited availability in the area. Price may seem high but there isn’t much more in the Yukon. Was a safe place to stay overnight.

Not a great place but not sure great exists in HJ. Dumpy room. Paint cans of sand and cigarettes on the railing outside our door were gross. Town was OK as a stopover but don’t get your hopes up for a great motel experience. It is what it is.

Upon check-in, the person who checked us in was insistent to charge an extra $20 simply because my son was traveling with me. I thought I had mentioned 2 travellers upon reserving the room, but she basically called me a liar. The room was sparse and in need of remodel. The carpet was dirty, and there were 2 warnings posted in the room for a $35 charge if you stole their small, thin and useless towels from the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, the shower head was loose in the wall and I thought it would fall off. No floor mat to step out of the shower either yuck. Last time I would stay here.

Excellent stay, breakfast was delicious, wonderful kind owners. Highly recommend!

Checked in late. Pushed the button outside, as instructed on the sign. Waited outside for approximately 5 minutes before the worker came. He seemed annoyed with us. The room was freezing! Had to close all the windows. Couldn’t get the tv to work. Fan barely plugged into the wall. Went to take a shower, pulled the curtain back and a TON of huge ants fell into the bathtub from the curtain. After this, we gave our belongings a good shakedown. Went to the restaurant for breakfast. Over priced. Greasy. Didn’t taste good. Dirty facility.

Room worn and paint and curtains need updating. Bathroom tub gross stuff in drain. Staff nice but not a very well kept hotel. Bedding clean but room in touch shape.

Everything was good except the pillows were very flat and need to be replaced.

Nice motel with easy parking. We stayed overnight while on Alcan and nice sleep!

Excellent stay and everything was great! This will be my go to location when staying in Haines Junction! Highly recommended. 5 out of 5 stars on all aspects!

Staff friendly and a quiet place to get some rest.

The Room is clean, And you can see beautiful mountain view from back window. The Food is delicious, I will come back again!

Convenient location but not modern. Everything seemed old and worn out. The bed and linen felt old, not crisp and clean like one would expect… and deserve. I did not sleep well as a result. Restaurant on site but was empty and not tempting. Huge pile of old telephones on center table and on floor made eating there even less appealing. Staff nice enough, not very friendly…. and did not reply to my messages in a timely manner, either before booking (I messaged them prior to arrival to notify I was bringing my dog? No reply.) then after checkout to confirm refund of my $100 deposit (due to having a dog in the room). Took several days before they responded. Also, MANY warning signs about penalty fees for dog on bed, using towels for reasons other than shower, etc., made us worry about everything we did! Especially because everything was already old and worn out looking, so we feared being blamed for something. Used lint roller brush EVERYWHERE before leaving the room because it felt like (based on warning signs everywhere) that if they found even one dog hair they might keep our $100 deposit. Please note, we have a beautiful 12 year old border collie, well-trained, brushed daily, great traveler…. and we were STILL nervous about being there with a dog. Clearly they must’ve had some pretty bad experiences with previous guests! Not sure I’d recommend this hotel, but maybe normal for Haines Junction? I read other reviews that were good so I expected better.
