MountainView Hotel Merritt

Brand new air conditioner and very quiet. Bed was comfortable and the pillows are awesome.

I actually forgot about this reservation even though they emailed me a reminder a few days before, because I’ve been having a tough time lately (elderly mom going through breast cancer and I’ve had health issues of my own too), so I booked elsewhere kind of last minute. Then on my arrival night, I received a call from Mountain View just before 10pm, asking me when I was going to arrive, and he told me “because I need to go to sleep.” I guess they don’t have anyone at the desk overnight for late check-ins. I apologized and told him what happened, and he was kind of like, “Yeah because I’m up waiting for you.” I apologized some more. I mean, I definitely wasn’t happy with my brain costing me an extra Benji for nothing. For the price of two cheap places, I could have stayed somewhere very nice! He seemed kind of put out, even though now he had my money and didn’t have any of the expenses of a guest— no water or electricity used, no one eating the breakfast (if there is one), and no need to pay anyone to clean the room the next day. Because of his demeanor, I probably won’t book there next time— unless my brain messes up again. I do feel bad he stayed up late waiting for me; though they should probably do the check-in calls a little earlier. C’est la vie.

very accommodating as we were travelling from the Island to the Interior and allowed us a late check in. Rooms were clean a d the beds were comfortable. For us who needed to get back on the road, breakfast was great and the doors opened early. I would stay here again
