City Express by Marriott Port Hope

I received a message telling me my reservation had to be cancelled due to a burst water leak, yet the actual cancellation was not made and I have yet to receive a refund or response. Unable to reach anyone.

The staff was amazing. But it’s being renovated. And had a lot to be desired. And wasn’t given any warning it was being renovated. Expedia didn’t warn as well

This hotel should not be allowed to take visitors. The halls smelled of sewage, windows had caution tape, we booked the “Comfort Inn” but the hotel is actually called the Port Hope Inn. We all got extremely tired and felt dizzy shortly after going into our room - I asked the person working if they had CO2 alarms as we felt unwell. She said the things on the ceiling were - I showed her a picture which I had already researched and had discovered they weren’t. She said she would text her manager to inquire. When she came back to our room she rudely said that bc the heating was a radiator they didn’t require CO2 alarms. My family was feeling ill in the room so I had to book another hotel and we left. The rooms were also very dirty and disgusting (which I was okay with at first as we were staying due to a last minute emergency), but we had to leave as we did not feel safe and they were not concerned at all.

Comforter covered in dog hair and dirt. Carpets peeling up. Hotel under construction so no breakfast or even coffee as advertised. Beds were terribly uncomfortable

The hotel is under construction. You did not mention that. The price you charged me was greater than if i had booked directly with the hotel. The wallpaper is literally peeling off the walls. I feel like I am in the Hotel California. I talked with the staff but there is no refund because i booked through Expedia so i am staying but not happily. There is also a terrible smell in the hallway. What a disappoint and a really experience through Expedia.

Everything was perfect. Location and very clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend this place

Surprised at the price of parking. No oversize vehicles. No warning before booking.

The inn is undergoing extensive renovations, so a report will only be appropriate and pertinent, once they have all been completed and we are looking forward to that .

The room was absolutely filthy, I’ve never stayed in a room so dirty and gross.

Room was OK but dated Staff was nice

Shampoo rack in bathroom was empty. Hair dryer didnt work. Phone didnt work. Only 4 or 5 tv channels. Breakfast was not good . Thay didn't have any eggs. Not going back
